Learn this awesome heart fall move from our friends at Elite Golf Schools (elitegolfofaz.com). Founder, Riley Andrews and fellow coach, Kameron O'Nan join me to share a move that will help you get to your lead side (left foot) properly, where the chest also gets down and helps set up a better turn through the ball. For those of you who spin out from the top, this video could be very helpful in preserving that rotation. We hope you enjoy this addition to our Elite Golf Series!

This was a game changer for me. Forever, I’ve had difficulty with feeling the weight shift in my feet, hips or pelvis. This “heart move” fit well with my athletic DNA and I was immediately able to do something that has eluded me for years. Thank you.

Great series w/ Elite! This really clears up the no rotation can happen until after the lead foot transfer happens. Only one thing can happen to make this series even better is finally seeing Luke Bracke making his screen debut!

I love the heart and pressure focus. I often get the "olay" move and slide too much when I attempt lateral movement. This was really helpful.

I stumbled into a similar "transition" sequence by forcing myself to keep my right shoulder/butt cheek back as long as possible, but your idea of floating has made that move so much more graceful (unforced) and powerful. I now have way more clubface stability and my divots are much shallower and on line.

Love these videos with Riley and Elite Golf School. Thanks for sharing. I stress to the golfers with whom I work is that you want lateral early and rotation late, both in the backswing and downswing. Rotation early and lateral late are swing killers. The addition of Rory and DJ on gears really amplifies the concepts. Thanks again for sharing. 👊👊

Question: Once you get to the lead side, and everything is in position, what starts the turn into the ball? is it the torso, legs, shoulders?

Do you let the heart fall at the same time as floating to the honey hole? Or does one come first? Thanks.

Ha! This seems to really work! I have quite a bit of trouble shifting weight to the target side at the start of the downswing and letting the heart "fall" seems like a much easier trigger to relate to! (Based on a bunch of practice swings in the garage, LOL. But seems right).

Milo, how does this tie in to the squat move in transition that you talk about? Is the squat along with the pressure shift happening at the same time?
@MiloLinesGolf
@MiloLinesGolf 2 жыл бұрын
Yes the squat creates the pressure shift

Hi Milo .. can u think the same thought with driver ?
@MiloLinesGolf
@MiloLinesGolf Жыл бұрын
For sure, although there isn't as much "covering" with driver, there is a bit more extension and on a different plane given the ball is teed up.

I’m wondering if the belt line needs to be more level at impact (10-19* vs 25-35* hip tilt) and how important this is. I can only get a flatter belt line at impact but not adding trail side bend. But then I add trail side bend and I’m sitting at a hip tilt of 22-30*. When I look at all the rotational players, they have incredible trail side bend but there belt line is at 10-20* tilt (many at around 16*). How does one get a flatter belt line while still getting a lot of side bend?
@MiloLinesGolf
@MiloLinesGolf Жыл бұрын
That is an interesting question. I see pretty good variation from tour players in this area. You need to bend from the ribs up not tilt from the pelvis.

Is this y I lost so much distance? I no longer feel I'm turning, nor getting pressure from the ground. No energy thru the ball.

So if I am chunking it even if I have floated to my lead side…that means I am either pulling down on my arms or not pivoting correctly?
@MiloLinesGolf
@MiloLinesGolf 2 жыл бұрын
I’d have to see Brian, but would guess from our time together that your wrist/arm structure still gets let go and left behind.
@mattbickham5635

I get what they are saying but I can only consistently achieve this without getting my arms involved by thinking push laterally with the left hip. If I do this my right side bend happens automatically and the club drops into position and “slings” cleanly.

Instead of thinking about the torso moving forward I think about a hip bump left (for right handed) at the start of the downswing - the small lateral slide left of the hips - where upon rotation can now begin. This move virtually forces the club properly into the slot. At least for me 😏
@sammyw5136
@sammyw5136 2 жыл бұрын
For me, I want to start the downswing with opening the hips while having momentum towards the target. If I just bump the hip left, I'm not going to open the hips, and I'll early extend. But if I focus on simply opening the hips and flexing into the ground, I'll naturally move my weight left.
@mrsmartypants_1
@mrsmartypants_1 2 жыл бұрын
@@sammyw5136 Everyone seems to have a certain swing thought/body feel that works best for them. If by “flexing into the ground” you mean that classic Snead squat I just can’t get that feel to work. Wish I could.
@MiloLinesGolf
@MiloLinesGolf 2 жыл бұрын
If it works for you great. I generally don’t like seeing the pelvis slide left without the chest because it tilts you away and can cause you to stall and flip.

Ideally you land left in the ball of the foot and pressure will circle back to the heel as you continue to rotate.

Alright I’m confused. Is this a “feel vs real” thing? Because in your demonstrations you guys are squatting so far down your butt is almost touching the ground. But then when you do a full speed swing I don’t see anywhere near that much squat. Please explain

Slightly different. Dr Kwon likes the upper to stay centered and the pelvis to shift his A frame. The boys at elite like the upper to shift more right than the pelvis in the backswing and back forward of the pelvis in transition.

Why not just turn away from the ball and not move laterally at all? You’re making the golf swing way too complicated.

Because we want to hit it far and because we’re standing on 2 legs there is always some lateral movement in the swing
