The most important at least for me has been my opponent not knowing what I'm gonna do. It's unpredictability from it. So it's all about being able to do the same different types of serve, but from the same start, motion and from the same position pretty much. And not give away as little as possible so that allows little time to be able to set up to figure themselves out and that way I can keep them off rhythm and off balance as much as possible. Sort of take away that comfort from them.

Having the racquet face open seems to give him more pronation - more that 180 degrees, since he's moving from a flat racquet facing him to a racquet that's at an angle facing him. I've tried this and it's proven to be a 'safer' serve, although I'm not sure if I got more speed, which should come with more pronation. Any REAL expert here willing to comment?

It's true that his height helps him but there are taller players who don't have a serve as good as him, his technique is still really good.
