What a treat. And that was a really interesting point about the mic setup between Mangual Jr. and him. Especially from watching them so much. Thank u for your work Mad Salsa Diaries!

Maestro had such humility.
@politicsofrhythm3 жыл бұрын
Yes he did! He was one of the sweetest and most sincere men I met on my journey. Not the only one though. A lot of these great masters, I found, were incredibly humble, beautiful people!

Hi Roman, while releasing some of my material on this channel, I am also working on a documentary. Until I know what exactly I will use, I cannot release everything at this time. I hope you understand.

@@politicsofrhythm no worries! I understand. Love what you have here so far. Unfortunately there aren’t many interviews of these greats so I’m happy you have uploaded several. I’m a fan already of the channel. Looking forward to more and your documentary. Many blessings! 🙏

1:34-1:42 I feel the same way. Fania and all the greats included in the tours spoiled me. Today's Orquestras hold no interest for me. I listen to my golden oldies and maybe, maybe I'll give something a quick listen but for the most part it doesn't move me or excite me like the old greats.
@politicsofrhythm Жыл бұрын
I think, you are not alone! The Fania era represents the pinnacle of Salsa as we know it today and it must be hard for young musicians to aspire to create something equally exciting, yet novel and original. It's the same with Classical music in my view. The era of geniuses like Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Haendel, etc. will never be surpassed. But new forms and fusions of old and new music will always occur throughout our history.
