Awesome video. I think it’s a great deal. Sae and metric plus up to an 1 1/2 socket with a life time warranty equals awesome! Really would like to see a video on that Seesii impact!

Yeah the sizes are what pushed me towards going ahead and spending a little more money. Most of the other sets only had a few sizes bigger than my 3/8 set. I’m tempted to get it just to have in my garage for “in case”. I just wanted to see if anyone wanted to see it for me to mess with making a video. Thanks buddy 👍

I think that 1/2” impact set should not be kept in the garage. Those belong on the living room coffee table or on the mantle with overhead accent led spotlights - darn those look good! Of course then you’d need a display set and a working set… Nice video on the advantages of these new packout systems and how they add value. Gives us weekend diyers ideas on how to use some of these ideas to be more organized and efficient for our projects. If you can’t find the tools you need and get them efficiently to the project location , they aren’t useful. I like to say the hardest question for any project isn’t what new tools I need to get but which tools I’m going to leave behind. Having things organized in these modular packout systems makes it easier to just grab what you really need wthout spending half the day sorting through a bin of tools or an hour carting stuff you don’t need. As for justification, if this $200 investment saves you 10 to 15 minutes on a half dozen different projects, you probably break even and the rest is profit after that. If working with these gorgeous red & black sockets improves your attitude, your quality of work improves and your clients are happier. In fact, I don’t think you could afford NOT to get these. (and yes, my wife rolls her eyes too when I try that on her). Enjoy the new to(y)ols and thanks for the video!

Couldn’t have said it better myself… Yeah that is the hardest part of my job. Deciding what needs to be in my truck and what doesn’t. There is only so much room and I don’t live close enough to my customers to just run home all the time. Also 100% agree.. If you don’t enjoy your work, it’s going to show up somewhere. Either in your work, to your customer, or your family. Anything you can do to make it enjoyable is money well spent. I always have a joke with my wife when I show her a deal where I am getting something at a discount, or free things with it… I always say “I don’t want to lose money on this” meaning that if I don’t spend the money and buy it… I’m losing money. Somehow the math doesn’t usually add up the same way in her mind 😂

That seesii is a good little impact if you're looking for a budge friendly one. I think you should b 3 able to put the slim trays on top of the foam to customize that standard organizer, I added other sockets and extensions under mine and damn near doubled the weight, did it to the swallow 1/2"drive packout too.

Solid justification. That is a very nice looking socket set! It’s hard to find a reasonably priced and complete set of half-inch impact sockets. Grey Pneumatic and Tekton sell individual sets (either metric or SAE), but they are all in the $100+ range, especially for deep sockets. Plus no one has as nice markings on their sockets as Milwaukee. I’d say you scored.
@MORGANSMaintenance
@MORGANSMaintenance Жыл бұрын
I kept looking at other sets and could have saved a little money…. But since having the 3/8 Milwaukee set, I would have always been disappointed using the other ones thinking “for a few more dollars, I could have got the Milwaukee ones” I’d always rather just spend a little more and get what I want. If it’s close… now if it’s multiple hundreds of dollars difference, maybe not.

Just picked up the 3/8" drive set because it was marked down from $150 --> $109. Considering this because the Packout case is $50, so that basically makes the sockets less than $7/ea -- how did you get a 10% off coupon...?

I still like the small and medium toughcase vit holders. The packout is too big for that and eats space. There are 3d printed solutions but the dewalt is better i think. Plus you can get the craftsman versions to match your Milwaukee red.
@MORGANSMaintenance
@MORGANSMaintenance Жыл бұрын
Yeah those are what I am currently using. I did notice yesterday that Milwaukee improved how their bits come out of the front row in these cases, but the back row is still break to fingers Milwaukee. I definitely prefer the bit holders in the Dewalt. I want to do Packout bins that take the Dewalt holders.

@@MORGANSMaintenance oh, I’m definitely guilty of taking myself into needing something that clearly isn’t a need. I just bought another pair of needle nose. There was a scenario at work where I couldn’t get something with my larger needle nose, the smaller one worked for what I needed but had to use another set of pliers to finish….so I bought a size right in between just in case that scenario presents itself again. 🤷‍♂️

@@nachoisme 100%… but the next time won’t be near as frustrating and you will enjoy doing that task more. If something makes working more enjoyable… I’m all for it. Quality sometimes takes a hit with the “get the job done” tool too.

😂 It’s definitely not something I would typically buy personally since I haven’t heard anything about that brand. I will buy and try random hand tools, but when it comes to battery tools I typically like to stay in my platform for tools I take on the job. That or at least buy a tool I’ve heard of. Although the random lasers have actually been pretty impressive. I’m not sure a M18 would get used enough by me to be high on my tools I’m going to buy list due to the cost. Especially since one would probably just be for personal use in my garage. They so happened to send me an email the day I got these 1/2” sockets in the mail is probably the only reason I was remotely intrigued. (Since I don’t have a High Torque) I sent them back a general reply to see what they are expecting, but will see what others might say. I don’t mind getting tools (even if I won’t use them often) and spending the time to make a video if I think others are interested. I do typically turn them down if it’s something I 100 % would not use. Appreciate your feedback 👍

If you have a use for them, then you got a good deal. It might be a little pricey, but Milwaukee is generally a top brand in most tools. That is a set I have been trying to justify myaelf.
@MORGANSMaintenance
@MORGANSMaintenance Жыл бұрын
Agree 👍 I had no problem pulling the trigger on the 3/8 set because I will use them very frequently to make money. It was harder for my brain to want to pay the price for these… but I just knew I wasn’t going to be happy with another set after having the 3/8. On tools, especially hand tools (or things without motors and batteries) I figure it’s worth spending a little more because you shouldn’t have to replace them often. If it’s a tool I am going to live with that long, I want to like using them.

👍. I just replied back to them… so we will see. I probably would not have bought it with it being an unknown brand… but a M18 high torque is far down my need list with the amount of use it will get and their price points. Thanks for the feedback on it. I get requests for all kinds of stuff, but I try not to take things unless I think people will want to see them.

I have the M18 Milwaukee 1/2” Mid-torque as well as the 3/8” Compact and 1/2” Stubby. They are great. I know the wrench you replied about isn’t Red, but it wouldn’t be a bad review and you can always keep it around the garage for wheel rotations and such. Plus since you don’t have a 1/2” impact you get to try out those sockets without having to use an adapter.

@@MORGANSMaintenance To be serious, I don't think there's a need for justification of the tool purchases. We need them, we buy them. Sometimes a lower price may be an incentive to make a purchase sooner, sometimes other factors may delay it. But in general that's the nature of tool - buy when needed. From time to time I buy bare tools or in a basic cardboard packaging to get a better price. I always suspect that if there's a "good" deal on a tool with a dozen of extras attached (that I often don't need), there should be a better deal for a bare tool.
@MORGANSMaintenance
@MORGANSMaintenance Жыл бұрын
@@Stefan_Kawalec yeah, it’s mostly a mind game a play with myself to attempt to keep me from spending “too much” on tools. Makes sense in my mind… but It doesn’t really work that well 😂 I still spend the “too much” on tools. I normally end up (as in this case) spending the same amount, but getting more tools. Waiting for a deal of some sort at least puts me off if it’s not a necessity. Sometimes that wait makes me realize I don’t need it as much as I thought I did. You are right though, If it’s a necessity it wouldn’t matter the price. We need what we need to do the job.
