I would personally go with the standard size. It’s still faster than a hammer, which is why it was invented.

Extended for me. It was sooo annoying having to refill so frequently with the short mag. The longer mag is not a noticeable weight gain and only slightly more awkward. For house framing and especially laying advantech it makes such a difference

Does Milwaukee have like a protective piece for the tip of the framing nailer,I think it is called non marring rubber,I am not sure what exactly the name is,so that the nailer's tip will not be eating into the surface of the wood being worked on.

I know some brands offer that. I don't recall one on this, but I may have removed it.

No, they don't. I bought the ones in stock at Home Depot and they work well.

No, it would feel awkward to me. i am never in that much of a hurry and i never work up high on things. yes especially with this nailer. Milwaukee blew it not offering extended fit glasses to fit over corrective lenses. i did get the safety glasses which are useless due to that, i wish they had an option, even if it cost extra! i only wear reader 2.00 lenses but i cant see without them.

Those are some good points. I'm starting to struggle with small print items and haven't thought about extended fit glasses.

I believe you can order replacement parts, but they're not made to just switch out from 21 to 30. I did see a video awhile ago on the VCG Construction channel showing some type of hack to make it work.

Im having issues deciding which of the guns to get, 21⁰ or 34⁰ , what do you recommend for the NY, north east coast area?

So far, I've been very happy with the 21° nailer. It fit's decently into the corners and it's very reliable and powerful.

Deffinetly 30° paper tape, standard around upstate new york sold in all lumber yards etc and plastic collation is awful imo... break apart and become useless take up more space and shoots plastic back at your face when nailing... paper tape 30 degree for sure!! (More nails fit in the mag too)

Late response but the difference between a 21-22 and 30-34 comes down to codes in your area. 30 degree typically use clipped nail heads or offset full nail heads. Building codes in some areas require full head nails as these have higher pull out forces so in tornado zones are required. If this is the case the angle of the 21 degree nailer allows for full head on center nails. If you're just a DIY'er then the 30 will allow for more nails in the clip and still as effective.

@@trevorp875There is no difference in pullout force as you call it. That is not the reason some building inspectors or departments want full round head nails over clipped head nails. I had this discussion with a very knowledgeable Senco tech more than 20 years ago. He explained that the issue was that it was easier for framers to overdrive the clipped head nails, reducing the holding power of the fasteners. Easy fix. Don’t overdrive your nails, clipped or round. That’s it.
