I'm a commercial electrician and I use the 3 plane laser for fixture layouts and everything else that needs to be square. Often exposed work that runs perpendicular to an existing wall is where this laser comes in handy. I call using this laser the buy one get one free method.
@MarkThomasBuilder

Great to hear that, this laser definitely is handy. I don't think Milwaukee also advertises it as a plumb bob, but the intersections are accurate for that type of use, which some electricians may need from time to time.

I am a plumber that often times installs shower valves and diverters on opposite shower walls that have to mirror each other. This multiple plane laser would be perfect especially on existing/old construction because the walls are usually not square or have consistent level points.

Thanks for sharing and glad I could help. I don't think they advertise plumb, but I'm glad it does. I have a crooked wall that I built in my basement many years ago. I wish I had the laser back then. It-s good laser but little bit expensive with not that much stuff :) . Can you make a video with Huepar S04CG - 4D Cross Line Laser Level :D and compare with milwaukee? :D

Does anyone know if the grid is a perfect 90 at the floor so i can use this in place of a framing square and strings for some projects?
@MarkThomasBuilder

Yes it is. I haven't tried testing it to be 100% sure. I know the plumb points are 100% in check.

Hi ,thinking of buying one ,can you tell me roughly is the laser line kinda think, it seems to be on the screen
@MarkThomasBuilder
@MarkThomasBuilder 2 жыл бұрын
The laser line looks deceiving at different distances. When you get up close, the line appears smaller and it's easy to see the center of the line. It's not paper thin, but a smaller thickness that you can work with. I noticed this with other laser like the Bosch green and red lasers.

What are the knobs for on the base of the laser level? Did I miss the answer? I caught the knob on the bracket for adjusting height but not the base one

Those are micro adjustment knobs to rotate it right or left.

does this one fit in the milwaukee packout organizer bin??
@MarkThomasBuilder
@MarkThomasBuilder 3 жыл бұрын
It's fairly large, so I'd say to put it a thicker Packout, the one with a black lid. Kaizen Foam would be a great way to keep it protected during storage.

Would work awesome for landscaping projects outside where you have to square it up with the house. Even though you can just measure to square it up. This is much quicker!

this tool has a big defect check before buying it turns out that the front part of the laser level has a very high and visible visibility but the other 180 degrees that would be on the back of the level look too pale

Is there one that works outdoors. Would be great if we can square with laser in an outdoors projet
@MarkThomasBuilder
@MarkThomasBuilder 2 жыл бұрын
There's a couple options that I can offer. The first is if you use the laser at either dawn or dusk, so you can easily see the laser. The second option is to buy the Milwaukee 165' Laser Detector, which works well in any outdoor setting. I made a video review of the detector if you want to see it in action.

Stupid question. What would be the best way to use this to draw squares in the ceiling ?
@MarkThomasBuilder
@MarkThomasBuilder 3 жыл бұрын
You can only use the laser to get half of the square. It would require measuring the square and moving the laser each time.

Hey I just purchased this for that exact reason...used the slightly cheaper dewalt version for years but time to upgrade...been installing bathroom partitions for over about 15 years now and using a laser like this is a massive time saver for getting brackets layed out and I do my layout for ceiling hung on the floor and shoot my drill lines up with the 2 plane options to act as a plumb line

Wierd question can you use this upside down? Say I needs a line closer to the floor than the height of the unit.. for example
@MarkThomasBuilder

It won't self-level upside down. I don't know of any other brands that shoot a laser that low. Maybe you could use it, measure down and then snap a chalk line at the floor level?
