I like everything except the calibration every year. do we get a loaner mean while?

Any calibration company may able to calibrate just make sure that the sent you the proper calibration document, so you can prove is calibrate, another thing just Milwaukee would be able to reset the certification count message that appear when it is" no calibrate"...

Correct me if I’m wrong but I think the torque is calculated with the length being in the center of where the handle is located. By grabbing at the end by the battery is extending the length of the bar and might be over torquing it. At least that’s how I learned it in aviation maintenance school.

Yes the torque is calculated like this, but keep in mind that the force measurement device inside the torque wrench is set and adjusted at the factory, and it is impervious to where you put your hand on the tool. The only difference you will feel when grabbing the torque wrench farther away from the fulcrum is less strain on your muscles to achieve the desired torque. And inversely , you will fell more strain on your muscles to achieve the desired torque if you grab the tool closer to it's fulcrum.

a torque wrench measures and is calibrated torque at the head, manipulating it from a different handle position only changes the force applied at the handle. torque is a product of force and distance around a fulcrum. increase the distance from the fulcrum, it only means you need apply less force in your hand to reach the same torque. what would affect torque calibration is adaptors that move the head from fastener, like a wobble joint or those easy reach gears because it moves the fulcrum.

Yes you have too, probably there are other places you can take it to calibrate, but you can still use it if it's not calibrate, inspectors always ask me for my calibration paperwork on the torque wrench that we are using at moment.

The only extensions that affects torque are those that change the angle (universal joint sockets, wobble adapters), or those that make the torque wrench shorter or longer (doesn't seem to be possible on this since you can't remove the head).
