I just bought this rivet gun and love it! Now I can hold the rivet gun with one hand and backup washer with the other. Milwaukee makes a great tool!

Yes, I agree 100%. Whenever I use this tool, I think of how valuable it is and I should find more projects to use it on.

I'm late to the party on this video Mark . Great video, I have held off on purchasing this rivet gun because of comments on other videos of it jamming with serrated mandrel rivets.

I've just used standard rivets and it works great for me. Milwaukee also introduced a M18 rivet gun and lockbolt tool that you might want to check out.

I've seen rivets on planes and jets as well. Looks like a great rivet gun! Nice review!

LucasGrowsBest thanks! I remember flying on a small plane in the Caribbean and seeing a loose rivet bounce around on the wing. Luckily it didn’t effect the flight.😬 By the way, I harvested my first vegetable from my deck garden. It was a jalapeño I diced up for tacos.👍Have the apples started to grow there yet?
@lucasgrowsbestyt6 жыл бұрын
You're welcome! Whew that must have been a scary experience. I don't trust small planes😂 That's great, a homegrown jalapeño for tacos.. delicious LOL. The apple trees are growing slowly, no fruiting yet.. hopefully next spring! I do have some ripe habaneros and banana peppers though. Maybe I should do the habanero challenge haha

Yes they do becuase they are so light so no massive amout of weight added on the planes when built

Well, you're the first video I've seen that had the ball's to use a 3/16 steel rivet, and for that, I gave you a thumbs up! Nice compact tool! I just wish it had the capability to use 1/4 rivet!.

Thanks, it's an awesome tool. I've found lots of uses for it so far.

@@MarkThomasBuilder Hi, I'm thinking of building some frames using either 1/8 or 3/16 aluminum angle, and I haven't decided just yet on if I will use a 3/16 or a 1/4 rivet, If I decide to use this tool strickly for 3/16 rivet how do you think this tool would hold up?
@pf56584 жыл бұрын
Very nice. I honestly never knew that this even existed. I’ll definitely be buying one.😊

This tool can do 400 rivets per charge. What's the most you would ever install on a project? Do you have a project this would work well on?

I wondered how the back of the rivets stay in place. Looks like they'd pop out easily. I thought by now there would be a new style permanent flat back pull? So basically riveting is designed for a certain period of time, to be replaced years from initial install. Can you use washers on the other side to hold permanently or hold more weight? I'd like to see a video of that.
@MarkThomasBuilder6 жыл бұрын
I've used washer with this as well as wide flange rivets. So far they're holding up just fine. Another style of rivet I used before is the solid style, made for aircraft and aluminum boats. They're probably the strongest.
@kickdowndoors42916 жыл бұрын
what kind of tool is used for the solid rivet?

Where do you use steel rivet versus stain smell or aluminum rivet? Also how do though choose the length? I own an Airstream tréfiler . Thank you for this video !

I use aluminum rivets in aluminum. You don't want to mix the 2 metals. Here's a guide I found online for selecting the size.... www.arrowfastener.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/RT187M-Rivet-Guide.pdf

I haven't had any problems with this at all. It came through for me just fine on a recent project.

Do you have to have the mandrel box on to use it?
@MarkThomasBuilder6 жыл бұрын
It's not required to have it on, but it makes life much easier.

Does it works on serrated mandrel rivets ?
@MarkThomasBuilder4 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I don't know the answer to that. I recommend reaching out to Milwaukee or put a question for this tool on the Home Depot website.

Good luck with those drill bits if you plan to use them on metal any thicker than that hahahaha
@MarkThomasBuilder3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, these are handy drill bits, but a little limited. I picked up another set on my channel for heavy steel drilling.

how durable is this gun? at my job I'm popping rivets all day sometimes. the air rivet guns we have always break after a week or 2 and its impossible to pop a rivet. I wouldn't want to buy this and have ot break within a few weeks.
@MarkThomasBuilder6 жыл бұрын
Mine is still going strong. It feels like a heavy duty tool, in my opinion.
