Bought the 35 liter Minaal Carry On 2.0 when it came out for a two month trip to Cambodia and Bangkok. Allowed to carry it on the planes, no waiting at carousels. I like being a minimalist one bag carry on traveler. It’s great not having to check bags. Just carry it on with you and toss it in the overhead. Now I have the 21 liter Minaal Daily 3.0 you reviewed here. So I’ve gone smaller. Except for a small cross body sling bag, it will be the only bag I will be carrying on my next flight back to Cambodia. Just waiting for my Covid-19 Pfizer shots, and then I book flight. It feels so much freer to not be bogged down with all kinds of stuff. Love being a one bag, carry on minimalist. Thank you for your review. I love Minaal. Both their Carry On, and their Daily, are great bags.

This is probably one of the best looking bags out there! I like that the bag is not too “tall” so it keeps a lower profile. I really love the sleek minimal look on the outside yet there are many internal features that make it unique. I agree with what you said about the admin section. Personally, I would typically use the bag in backpack mode, and not briefcase mode so the way they oriented those pockets wouldn’t be of much use. The slip pockets also seem loose and flimsy so I feel like all your stuff would fall out anyway (this is why pouches become so useful) if you have it in backpack mode. It would work great in briefcase mode (but then you would have to make sure the zippers are on the correct side every time if you want fast and easy access, but this seems like it would be a nuisance), but I think most people would have it in backpack mode most of the time. I kinda wish they kept the blue logo (it also matches the color of the keychain 😂) like the one on their original V1, but if anything that’s just a minor nitpick. The secret pocket they added in the back is a welcome addition! This bag is a bit on the pricier side for me compared to other bags in the same category, but I can definitely see why people praise it so much. But it still looks like a great bag and excellent review as always!

Great review odie! I thought about purchasing the 2.0, though I live in a country with a very hot climate so the lack of back ventilation made me go with the Errant instead.

How good is it for camera gear?

Running the cubes I did I found it to be pretty nice. It’s not as good as a bag designed for camera gear but it’s a nice hybrid in my opinion.
