Love when two respectful, knowledgable people talk the sport they either has played or has a special interest in as a reporter/journalist. It can be done without shouting, trying to be controversial or ”beat” the one you discuss with. Without being boring. They are two class acts in the sports panel space. Really hope they are appreciated at their network. Wish them both well.

Zach Orr will not only duplicate he will take it to the next Level ... Mike McDonald was developed in Baltimore just like Zach whom also played at a Pro Bowl Level in that Defense... Folks think Mike McDonald reinvented the Ravens... when in reality he just added a new flair to a system and our Roster accomodated him perfectly .. He is Great but there is a reason why our Defensive Coordinators always get taken from us .. .this is nothing new ... the history speaks for itself ... but the doubt is real and Mike Mcdonald was being Heavily Criticized his 1st year as will Zach .. but we will see a quicker learning Curve from Zach simply because his journey as an Undrafted to Pro Bowler to assistant to Position Coach to Coordinator ......

That works due to two things. Identifying talent whether obvious or not, and 2) shaping that talent via an excellent coach. Spags and Reid have a way of getting the most out of their guys regardless of their talent level. This is why and how KC wins when it counts despite not having the most loaded roster. A lot of fans and analysts completely overlook that.

@@tbone-lw2pk It don't matter what the 49ers have done when they had TWICE to easily win the super bowl and both times Kyle dumb ass decided to throw the ball 1000 times instead of running it. They had enough to win but until Kyle stop going away from the run in big moments then they will always come up short. Both super bowls they made Mahomes look below average the whole damn game UNTIL they gave him enough plays to snap out of it in both 4th quarters at the end. You run the ball you win the game, you run cmc in the dirt during the regular season but don't in the super bowl?

@@user-tk3zl5kp5k Here's something strange I noticed about Kyle dumb-ass. Watch out for it in Every Game because it's such a strong habit it's more like a serial killer's ritual. While most other play-callers freeze in the clutch, Shanahan's play-calling changes... At about six minutes 23 seconds into the 2nd half of Every Game. (I'm not sure about the 23 seconds). Regular season or playoffs, it doesn't matter. He changes All The Plays no matter whether change is required or not. & like a program, he's locked in. No matter how badly those plays fail, he can't switch out of them. Not to another set, not to the previous ones. Whatever plays he made up his mind to switch to, he can't stop himself from calling from That Point On. The funniest part of this was I hadn't watched the NFL from about '14 to '22. I only discovered late in '23 that he was in ATL for 28-3 where, for No Particular Reason, all the effective play-calling stopped in the 3rd quarter &... I simply just noticed that whoever was having a great game in the first half wouldn't get to touch the ball after about five minutes into the 2nd. Not right away but somewhere early in every 2nd half, something in Shanahan changes & he seems blissfully unaware of it.

I’m not a big fanboy of the Ravens. They’re just not my team, but I completely agree with you. Last year when they faced the Niners they were underdogs, after clearly establishing themselves as the best in the league. I remember saying to myself, “what’s going on here?” Of course, they went on and crushed the Niners in that game. My first guess is this has something to do with Lamar Jackson, who continues to get dogged, and continues to excel. Anyway, these power rankings are bonkers. Sure, okay, put KC number one, but no way Baltimore is not number 2. And, Detroit and the Texans? Didn’t the Ravens kick Detroit’s butts last year, too? No way they are behind them. As for the Texans, there’s no guarantee they are better than the Ravens. CJ has to prove he can do what he did last year, and the Texans haven’t established themselves as perennial winners yet. I’ve never seen such a clearly dominant team, continually get ignored as the Ravens. After two seasons of frustration, the Ravens are going to be monsters this year. Watch.

Never knew Mina and RC knew each other before NFL Live, that's so cool. Shows how ppl have recognized for a long time how much that Mina really knows ball. It's funny how RC has the Ravens below the 49ers/Lions/Texans who are three teams the Ravens beat the brakes off last year. As easy as it is to say it's because he's a Steelers homer I think it's a common theme because people are A) massively underrating Derrick Henry who along with Lamar will be one of the biggest matchup nightmares in the history of the NFL and one of the best FA pickups in NFL history. ONe of the best backs ever at yards AFTER contact teamed up with the best QB ever at generating yards BEFORE contact for RBs. Henry quietly has actually had the greatest efficiency in his career in the shotgun offense and has cartoonish efficiency in the few times the Titans ran zone read, and that was without a QB like Lamar or 300 pound fullback like Ricard. He will easily average well over 5 YPC next year. And when teams try to load the box against Lamar we all know he was the #1 QB in the league vs loaded boxes last year. They lost to KC because they foolishly dropped back to pass 37 of 38 times vs light boxes against the CHiefs. They wont have the audacity to do that again with King Henry unless Harbaugh is trying to intentionally get fired. THeir offense is going to be historically great and efficient next year. B) Massively overrating the impact of MacDonald on the Ravens defense. Ravens have had a top 10 defense 19 of the last 25 years. MacDonald is not terrible but his defense didn't turn things around until the Roquan Smith trade. Roquan is the force multiplier along with that culture on that side of the ball. It's like how the Ravens had a top 6 defense under 6 diff coordinators in the Ray Lewis era. And even if the defense takes a "step back" their offense is easly going to score well over 30 PPG next year, they can well afford to be go from being ranked 1st to 5th/6th.

The Ravens have suffered real losses in the offseason. Big chunk of their O-line and losing their DC could be huge and more than enough to drop them down below teams that either tread water or improved their roster.
@truthbearer7891
@truthbearer7891 15 күн бұрын
@@user-wb5jw8df3t The issue is people are pretending they've had nothing but losses and no key acquisitions this off-season. Again the proof will be in the pudding, but I think ppl are massively underrating the acquisition of Derrick Henry who has a chance of being one of the most impactful free agent signings of all time because of how much of a perfect fit the Ravens are for his skillset. Ppl are also not accounting for last year being year 1 of a brand new offense, first ever time in legit passing scheme for Lamar with his best weapon being a rookie WR. I think it's a better chance the Ravens have one of the highest scoring offenses of all time than for last year to be their peak. That's why overall even if their defense gives up an extra 2-3 PPG, that will be negated by their offense scoring 5-7+ more PPG.

I think the Lions game was a massive outlier bc it got out of hand immediately & they had no choice but to give up early. Literally everything that could have gone right for the Ravens did & everything that could have gone wrong for the Lions did. I also think if they faced off again, it would be a much better game, as the Lions have a significantly better roster this season than last, while the Ravens took a step backwards roster & coaching-wise.

Want them to doubt the Ravens even after they beat the brakes off the Chiefs on opening night. I want the media to make excuses and say it's only because they didn't have Rashee Rice. Dont want anyone jumping on Ravens bandwagon when King Henry is showing he still has plenty of juice left in the tank and he and Lamar are looking like most unstoppable duo ever. No. You;'re not. Y'all haven't figured anything out yet, have you? The Ravens have Always Won With sub-standard QBs. Always. Even Flacco's supposedly miracle playoff run featured him throwing horribly inaccurate passes that opposing defenses whiffed (two that went for TDs against the Broncos. It was one of only Two Games I ever saw that made me think the league _is_ fixed because there was the whole Ray Lewis last chance story, & two supposedly élite CBs fail to make INTs because one "couldn't stop himself running" & went past the play & kept on going, the other turned his legs backwards while keeping his torso facing forwards & tripped over himself). They made a show signing of OBJ to try to lure Lamar back without seeking the huge contract. They hired Greg Roman to undermine him by calling plays designed to fail that Every Other Team In The NFL figured out how to defend but not a single staffer on the Ravens saw anything wrong with? Your MVP QB goes from throwing 36 TDs to only 6 INTs with no true #1 receiver to 16 (less than half) & 13 (more than double) & you the fans didn't see anything wrong with the play-calling that reduced him from Tom Brady to Daniel Jones? They are obstinately taking out their resentment on Lamar this time "giving him" an older oft-injured RB instead of two younger ones (so that if anything goes wrong they don't have a replacement) while removing 3 of 5 o-line veterans & reduced the receiving corps. "They're gonna be better this year." _How?_ Is Mike McDonald replaceable? They got worse on offense, lost one of the best DCs in the league & Tucker already showed signs of aging & inconsistency _last_ year helping them lose to Minshew's Colts. They got worse at every single position except QB (same) & CB by getting a rookie who can't tackle. Every time I see how the Ravens treat him I think of how the Browns might have two rings by now had they, a team that *wants* a high-end talent at QB had drafted him.

I think he underrated the entire afc north by a few spots. The entire division had a winning record, and all attempted to upgrade. They beat each other up but ran through the rest of the league. Cincinnati smoked San Francisco at full strength.

@@getbrainseedsI actually think the Browns are gonna win the division this yr if they don’t have injuries like they had last yr and if nick Chubb can come back strong or close to his 2022 yr. The Browns actually have one of the best rosters in the NFL next to the 49ers plus being able to upgrade the coaching staff and the defense is gonna be even better bc they’re gonna add a lot bc they got the basics down.

Schwartz kept that defense simple he’s adding this yr they’ll be ready for the motions and the shifter offenses this yr and if the qb play is there that defense will be the best in the league bc they won’t be on the field as much as they were last yr

I’m a 40+ yr Chiefs fan and obviously in agreement with #1. But I also agree with Niners at #2. They have a solid structured roster that do what they do. It’s like one big system offense and defense. The opposite of the Ravens and I think that a team like the Niners that are solid and consistent will eventually break a frenetic athletic ability focused team.

Ravens fan here. This is a fair assessment. We haven't seen the O-line, defensive backs, or how Lamar will respond to the second year of Monken's offense. We haven't seen Henry in this offense. We also haven't seen what the defense game plan might be. On the other hand early in the season the teams won't have seen that either, and that's the tough part of the schedule. So at this point, before training camp with a lot of unknowns, more than any other team, this is fair. But I expect that to change.

Where do you got the lions
@stlegion-px1wo
@stlegion-px1wo 15 күн бұрын
It’s understandable why they chose the lions over the ravens when you consider that they kept continuity for another season in O.C and D.C and the foundational pieces on both sides of the ball particularly who played the best football is the same . They lost A gaurd in Jonah Jackson.replace him with Kevin zeitler the ravens Gaurd .they acquire dj reader from the bengals .they trade for Carlton Davis they acquire amik Robertson by not only that they double down and at the case for DB they triple downed at those positions in the draft . And if you go even further the lions had a better match up against the 49ers than the ravens had against the chiefs . Yes the lions got their shot kicked in by the ravens in week 7 but compare that performance to the NFC championship game and they look like a completely different football team

Browns beat the 49ers with a backup quarterback. They beat half of the teams ahead of them after losing their starting quarterback and tailback and otger key players. Seems like they should be way higher. Unless you just hate the browns. Pittsburgh its reasonable for Ryan to drop the browns but Mina should do better.

This point has been made about Sneed already, but it needs to be made again. For the past 6 seasons the Chiefs have lost an important DB and have been able to replace that player ever year. Ward went to SF and was replaced with McDuffie, Mathieu with Reed. Plus we have drafted DB's incredibly well. I trust is Spags and Reid to make sure that by seasons end the D will be firing on all cylinders.

As a lion's fan, I don't know how you can pick the Ravens over the lions. I believe the lions are a top three team. The only two teams they can beat them are the Ravens and the Chiefs. We just don't got the defense to handle Lamar and we never see a quarterback anything like him only once every 4 years

You guys had better pick the Bengals in your top 5. They are good. They are hungry and I think they are going to win it all this year. I think they are going to beat the 49ers in the Super Bowl this year. The hated 49ers that beat us in 2 Super Bowls in the 80’s.
