I enjoyed Under the Whispering Door, but you brought up very good points. For me Wallace’s attitude change was too fast and his redemption arc a bit too rushed. Not his best book, but still enjoyable for me. Thank you for all the reviews, I’m definitely checking some of those positive reviews and keeping myself away from that dragon monster romance (sorry you had to read that 🤣)

have you ever read any of the Garnet Run series by Roan Parrish? They are gay new adult books and i absolutely love them! I only read 2 so far (think there is three?) and each book follows a brother and their romance story in this small midwest town. I haven't see anyone talk abt them before, i don't think they are very popular. I just came across it on Hoopla one day and was pleasantly surprised.

I HATED the Kate and Anthony dynamic. And distantly I’m the only one. I hated how she was hurting her sister for some guy. Like the sister would’ve been understanding. Edwina was so kind and trying to help them bond and it broke my heart that neither of them were going to tell her the truth. So I’m team edwina, but the sharma family as a whole was very beautiful she I appreciate darker actors on screen because the first season was very white

Initially i felt the same way as you but the true tea is that I didn’t care after a while😭 the whole point of the season was the forbidden nature of their relationship so the drama and the hurt feelings were a necessity i think
