Nah... The greatest sin of Naruto: Shippuden is Naruto Uzumaki failing to find the strength and self-agency like Luke Skywalker to let go of the past and forge his own destiny. Naruto should have obliterated the Tailed Beast! That would have been a true sacrifice worthy of the so-called: Child of Prophecy. His identity was the last thing on Minato had to prioritize, defending the leaf from the nine tails, somehow save Kushina although her tailed beast had been extracted, protect Naruto, defeat the masked man. Defeating Obito here and now was the most important thing. There was no way he could have guessed it was Obito in that moment. How was he supposed to guess that at that very time Obito the most untalented kindest shinobi in the leaf, would go on and kill the person who admired him the most Kushina, and attempt to and almost succeed in destroying him and the leaf.

For some reason, Minato and Itachi seem a lot alike. Both held the village in high regard and truly thought they did the right thing in the harrowing situations they found themselves in. Yet, when they were reanimated, they found themselves looking back on their lives and pointing out their various failures. Like Itachi, Minato would've been drowning in failures had he not met Naruto.

On a side note, Itachi and Minato both realized in the end, they made their decision and had to live with it. If either of them had backed out after the events that forced them to make a decision, it probably would've been drastically changed, and almost definitely not for the better. Think about it this way: Danzo wanted the Uchiha gone either way. Obito wouldve still been around, and Kurama wouldve been easy grabs without him being in Naruto. This way, Sasuke got to live, and Minato planted the seed for a weapon to stop the masked man in the future.

@Matias Sotelo hiruzen has to have alot more guilt on his conscience than any other hokage because he let danzo do whatever he wanted without punishment and he did nothing about it such as when danzo told itachi to kill kills clan, the assassination attempt, the child experiments and letting orochimaru live which resulted in the death of thousands of other men,women and children and the worst thing is danzo revealed that naruto was the 9 tails jinchuriki to the entire village which resulted in him being a outcast and being assaulted by adults in the street and hiruzen still didn't stop danzo. There was a scene of the anime where Hiruzen *regrets* that it was the way it treated like this. HIruzen tries so much to prevent the Coup d'Etat, Itachi credited him for being compassionate. It was in Kakashi's ANBU arc where Hiruzen also located the hideout of Orochimaru and tried to kill him, *but he's way too soft, maybe your toxic mind can't understand it*. Danzo leaked the information, Hiruzen made the rules that nobody could ever talk about it. Damn, watch anime or read the manga properly. You need Budjana in your life.

Eveeyone acts like it should've been obvious it was Obito to Minato, but the mangekyou was OP, and Kakashi didn't flash his eye around very much. He had Madaras training, which helped hide his past. His one eyes mask was a little sus, but Obito was practically confirmed dead. Nobody saw any need to question it, just like nobody felt the need to question Itachi killing his clan. Obito wasn't the same person, and after all that, he was infinitely more capable. None of the techniques he had before were similar. He didn't have the slightest part of sloppiness unlike his past.

How though? was Minato supposed to be omnipotent and instantly know when something went wrong. He had his own solo mussion and left his chunin squad with Kakashi, a genius jonin with 4 years of experience. I don't see how this is any of his fault. They were supposed to be capable chunin and were left with a genius jonin. This isn't like Kakashi who was protecting genin. Minato wasn't even their leader anymore. They were a 3 man squad with Kakashi as leader. 4 man squads are only for genin so they can train. this really has nothing to do with him. If you're talking about when Rin had the tailed beasts sealed inside of her, they were even older. It was a war and Minato had many duties and roles to fulfill. Kakashi also apparently pursued her by himself without informing other people. Is Minato supposed to a baby sitter for all of his life 24/7 and only care to these people.

Minato is probably the most humane character in the series so far and his Death and his actions,Flawed or other wise is as Human as it gets as anyone would do the same thing if they were on his shoes where in a situation you have practically nano seconds to make decisions about...It's just so hard to blame Minato as in his whole life,Time goes so fast for him and out of controly even he has a hard time catching up,failing what could have been easliy done and prevented if he could be a bit more faster and thus makes him feel like he is a failure.Which is a normal humane feeling. Minato is basically a more real,mature,level headed,quick thinking version of Naruto but without the plot armor i.e Kurama's Chakra and the blessing of the Six paths from Asura. I swear,The other thing i sympathize with Minato is that he did so much for Naruto in so little time that made a long lasting impact than most of the anime shonen dads did for thier childern,Especially someone like Goku as unlike them,You can tell how Minato is so proud of his son but also guilty for not able to spend time with him for a hard decision he made...I Honestly think he is one of the Best Shonen dads

I agree and disagree with this statement. Naruto followed just as he did his father. A flawed human being with the weight of an entire generation of hatred. Looking at the title of hokage like the sun, failures dehumization from not only adults but from his peers. The whole “if he would've been just a little bit faster” argument sounds dumb. given his situation, he made all the right decisions in his actions. The only problem was kakashi wasn't nearly as strong as he thought he was and was selfish which made him unfit to be the leader (I honestly don't even know what the elders in the village were thinking making him a jounin) minato was the strongest at the time and was needed elsewhere for the leaf to succeeds. He even gave kakashi a kunai and said to use it whenever they were in trouble. Kakashi being the selfish and prideful person that he was at the time reduced to use it until it was too late and at that point, everything had already honed to shit... Regarding the kushina situation, he was heavily weakened when he fought obito. First, he was handling the seal so the nine tails wouldn't escape while giving birth then. Then not only that he had to teleport a full power-tailed beast bomb far away from the leaf. which isn't an easy task to do it takes 3 high-level shinobi (hiruzen’s guards) to just teleport 1 person. It's not that he wasn't fast enough it was just it was a bad time and situation for him to be in for both times and he could only do so much for what he had. Outside of sage of six paths, characters, and 8th gates might guy the fastest character was minato until kcm2 naruto surpassed him (then kcm minato shows again why he's the fastest).

Minato is my favorite Hokage because even after everything he did for the village he still felt like a failure. He couldn’t save Rin and Obito. He could barely stop Obito when he attacked the village. He caused his son to live a life of solitude. But his actions still payed off in the end. The village survived the Nine Tails attack, Naruto would become and hero and beat the Akatsuki, Obito was redeemed. Minato did what he thought was best for the village and though it cost him his life he wasn’t a failure. In a way he able to fill Jiriya’s prophecy, he ushered in an era of great change for the Shinobi World.

I mean he kept the peace when the village was possibly at its weakest. I still believe that if Kumo went to war with Konoha Kumo would win. Though he should have kept Donzo in line, imprisoned him or killed him for treason , and killed Orochimaru when he first betrayed Konoha.

They could ill afford a civil war or public infighting. Im sure Iwa or Kumo would just love to destroy them if they smelled to much blood coming from them. and as I said before Konoha could ill afford any war at that point be civil or external. Especially since giving him this flaw as a character with bad judgement would later come to benefit in his growth as a character, something they couldnt do with naruto who had already had a will of steel. The chunin exams were the rough parts of boruto's character, but following that he developed a respect and understanding towards his father. More in the anime than the manga, since boruto has matured with more fights that are canon to the anime

It really is sad. Minato was practically a golden child who believed in everything he did in life. He was willing to seal the kyuubi into his son because he believed in the balance of power among the villages. He believed he managed to avert the plot of "Madara Uchiha" and that he had saved the destruction of Konoha. When he came back as an edo tensei, he thought all his sacrifice for the greater good had succeeded, he was calm and collected, seeing all his hopes coming to fruition. However, all this pride would immediately be turned over by the revelation that Obito was the one who had in fact attacked the village. He couldn't recognize his student, robbed his son of a normal life, and would indirectly be a cause of a shadow that eclipsed the conflict of all the major ninja villages. He wasn't a perfect kage, he failed and could only help once his era had already ended.

Honestly I feel like a core aspect and theme of naruto is theme of duty and honour are ultimately the very things that lead to failure and sadness. Look at all the heroes from Konoha and beyond (Gaara/Kazekage) who’s very acts that lead them to be considered as heroes and legends are the acts they find themselves questioning and regretting. All made decisions that felt were best at the time and lauded by the village but in truth their efforts ultimately lead to personal sacrifice and consequences that none of them saw coming, for better and worse. For all the stick it gets, there’s a lot strong themes that go through naruto, o just think a lot of people focus on the whole destiny aspect due to it being the first big one that the series recognised out loud. But dig deeper and you find stories of adulthood, duty, love, forgiveness, etc. Good vid dude 👍🏾

No matter the speed, no matter the strength he gained Minato couldn’t outrun or outmatch the tremendous self doubt, inner voices telling him that he failed everyone around him, the words of Obito only further cementing his own inner shame and fears. He no doubt loved everyone he came across and would have made a wonderful parent but at the end of the day Minato had to put the village first, like a religious person putting their god before their family and everything else. Love is what gave Minato hope for the future and faith is what kept his firm belief in Naruto in tact during his worst times. Deep down he knew that his love for Naruto wasn’t misplaced and was proud of the man his son became.

I don’t think he saw anything too unclear though, he didn’t really unnecessarily beat himself up over nothing and then give up, instead he was so good at constructively criticizing himself, that he got faster and better all his life long, always staying humble and never resting on the achievements he already had, but rather lively striving to his highest, balanced potential. I mean, one man that made entire armies turn around, simply because everybody knew his strength and speed, without him starting to look down on anybody is pretty admirable and a straight way to live in my opinion. There was drama, but he decided how it played and it didn’t turn to a tragedy, but rather a beautiful possibility and no failure at all :)

How though? was Minato supposed to be omnipotent and instantly know when something went wrong. He had his own solo mussion and left his chunin squad with Kakashi, a genius jonin with 4 years of experience. I don't see how this is any of his fault. They were supposed to be capable chunin and were left with a genius jonin. This isn't like Kakashi who was protecting genin. Minato wasn't even their leader anymore. They were a 3 man squad with Kakashi as leader. 4 man squads are only for genin so they can train. this really has nothing to do with him. If you're talking about when Rin had the tailed beasts sealed inside of her, they were even older. It was a war and Minato had many duties and roles to fulfill. Kakashi also apparently pursued her by himself without informing other people. Is Minato supposed to a baby sitter for all of his life 24/7 and only care to these people.

I think Sarutobi the 3rd hokage was the worst hokage. I mean first of all his childhood rival Danzo is the reason for the Uchiha massacre and also the creation of Pain. Sarutobi had a lot of change to kill Danzo but of course he failed to bring himself to kill him bcuz of his high moral even though he had the best chances. He failed to prevent the Uchiha massacre, didn't put a lot of effort into saving Neji's father and also couldn't bring himself to kill Orochimaru bcuz he was his "former student". When Minato and Kusina died saving the village, their only simple request was to take care of Naruto and WTF did he do????😒 Not to mention how he died....he basically sacrificed his life just to make Orochimaru's hand paralyzed 😒 which eventually didn't last long. I'm not saying that I hold Sarutobi responsible for Danzo's and Orochimaru's actions but rather than giving them so many changes he could've put them down before it was too late. All I'm saying that he was very shitty at doing his job. So I would rather call Sarutobi a failure.

I agree, personally I find Sarutobi to be the most responsible. He's been there from beginning to the end. He grew up at the root of it all and had the means to stop it once he became Hokage. I'm not sure if I miss the mark when I say this but.... Minato may have been hokage with a bunch of responsibilities, but when it comes to the village there was a SHIT ton of unresolved nonsense that was way too complex and too deep for Minato to meddle with. I'm not even sure if what I say make sense man. But that's how I feel. Yes he may be the "fourth" but he was at a really young age, with so much stuff to prepare for. It's sad that he basically had no time for it at all. It's just as the video said, _"Minato had to make a choice and he had to make a choice quickly. All Might from My Hero Academia is a great example of a worthy symbol.

IMO, Hiruzen had the most no of failures as a Hokage. He never completely understood Orochimaru and failed to stop him from fleeing the village. Then he failed to avert the Uchiha coup which resulted in Itachi massacring the clan and becoming a criminal. He even failed Naruto & Sasuke. Sasuke's PTSD and rash personality, Naruto's extremely sad and lonely childhood can also be counted as Hiruzens failures.

I think that is a quality of true genius combined with humility. Those intelligent enough to actually think about the consequences of their actions always look back at what they did. Those who are arrogant either dont care or think they did perfectly. Those with humility look back and wonder what they could have done better. How they could have made a "better" decision or what could have been done differently. His choices led to the best possible outcome. Kaguya and Madara were ultimately defeated, Obito redeemed, and the ninja world at peace. While Minato cannot directly take credit, his actions and foresight paved the way for them to happen. Without Naruto, there would be no victory. Without Minato, there would be no Naruto. Not just literally, but who Naruto was and is and what he was capable of, even the eventual failures Naruto would endure(releasing Kurama's seal) were foreseen and accounted for. Thats why Minato is the real OG and my favorite character, along with Night Guy and Kakashi Sensei :)
