Minato's fights were always the best I think. Because he doesn't ever screw around. Yeah there are fights that are flashier and more epic, but the fact that Minato goes for the kill right off the bat makes me perceive him as far more dangerous than pretty much any other character.

Shisui met Itachi when Itachi was 5 and Shisui already had the Mangekyou for 1 year. Shisui died when Itachi was 12. That means that Shisui had the mangekyou for 8 years. How on earth does he know that it takes kotoamatsukami 10 years to re activate?

Not only that but its clearly said that he used kotoamatsukami all the time in the war so he obviously got a much shorter cooldown. Anyone else would have a 10 year cooldown, the original owners of the eyes have less intense drawbacks than others. Perfect example being kakashi from zabuza arc to early shippuden couldn't use sharingan/mangekyo without being completely fucked up for days at least.

Like the original comment said he ain't even have the mangekyo for 10 years before he died so how would it work if he had a 10 year cooldown. We'll probably never get a confirmed answer about it but personally I think it would make sense if his stronger koto had maybe a 10 week or 10 month cooldown, 10 days at the most.

Minato is if I’m not mistaken LITERALLY traveling through space time to teleport instantly. While shisui is just using really fast movement. Now given that while minato has to mark a location and she shisui can just move whenever he pleases, I think it’d be an interesting encounter.

You are correct. The only thing I'll say is that Minato was also implied to be crazy fast outside of FTG. I don't mean necessarily running as fast as Raikage, but his reflexes and reaction speeds are insane. The way he can move his body is unreal, but at the same time let's take that encounter with A for example. A blitz him and was already at his face but Minato threw a kunai and teleported to it all in a time frame quicker than A even though he was already at his face. Then he proceed move faster than A while stabbing downward. Last thing, is that the body flicker is technically used by everyone to travel really quickly. But they aren't proficient enough to use it in actual combat like Shisui. So maybe that is what Minato is doing as well? Just a thought

@@pkj2148 @PKJ 214 Minato is actually just really freaking fast. If you look at the Raikage vs KCM Naruto, A is constantly saying that Naruto is fast but not as fast as the fourth hokage. With the fact that Naruto isn't using teleportation and just really fast movement, it has to imply that he's just not as fast in physical speed than Minato. Tsunade also says "Naruto is matching the Raikage's speed" and then A claims that ever since The fourth's death, nobody has been faster than him which. Then Naruto finally blitzes Raikage and the first comparison that's made is "just like the yellow flash", implying that Naruto reached those levels in speed. Additionally, teleportation isn't a speed at all. A lot of the fight contextually just has Minato as a speed beast. And then he can teleport on top of it. Naruto chapter 541-542 for reference.

I feel shisui was written to make us hate Danzo so much more. He was built up nicely, not too much, had so much potential, and was absolutely molested by the system before he could ever improve as a shinobi. Danzo using his eye also helped hype up Shisui even more, which leads to us just imagining Shisui to be like Itachi but stronger. But since the writers left it to our imagination and let Danzo disrespect Shisui so hard, we will never know.

I think they just made shisui strong to show how much stronger itachi is. Remember itachi was like basically 98% as strong as shisui with just 3 tomoe not even ms because shisui wasn't dead yet.(shisui had a rival with itachi like kakashi and guy where shisui only led by 1 win out of like 50 than itachi but otherwise they were basically even just like kakashi and guy was. Difference is shisui had ms which makes not just your eyes but chakra stronger even if he didn't use his ms his 3 tomoe would be stronger than if he never had ms. And itachi only had 3 tomoe max and was younger than shisui

Pretty sure Danzo's Koto was eye contact control, and Shisui's other eye was instant domination. The ten year thing may just be a 'youre not the owner of these eyes' thing, because Shisui wasn't even 20 when he died and yet he used Koto on more than one person and was gonna use it on the whole clan.

On Danzo's Koto Swag and Six are correct, it doesn't require eye contact. Danzo was hiding Shisui's eye behind bandages while controlling Mifune at the kage summit. They had to use a Byakugan to spot it. Then yeah sure, I would be surprised if Shisui had a 10 years cool down using his own ability, or even 1 type of Koto of his eyes.

that was probably the second plan for danzo. he did all of that and ambushed shisui because he wanted his eyes, as they were one of the most powerful eyes he could get his hands on at the time. but if it were to fail, danzo could simply flee after getting inflicted any physical damage and then cry to the hokage that an uchiha tried to assassinate him, which would lead into a civil war between the uchiha and the rest of the village, most likely.

However that is not a bad thing and it’s actually more impressive because the Danzo shisui fights is a lot stronger physically then hokage Danzo as he is stated to be comparable to hirusen by the elders multiple times meaning Danzo is comparable to a much stronger hiruzen who can fight the nine tails a little bit.

Also danzo is no where close to hiruzen, EMS sasuke who shat himself when the 1st and 2nd let a little chakra off, was easily able to kill him even when he spammed izanami multiple times which he didnt have when he confronted shisui for the first time. Shisui's genjutsu is literally said to be the strongest genjutsu only second to the infinte tsukiyomi probably. In addition to this shisui also has a susanoo which danzo wasnt able to do shit against and actually tried to break through with a kunai (quite disgraceful). In short tobirama and hashirama were no where near as powerful when fighting hiruzen who is way stronger than danzo who EMS sasuke rag dolled. So shisui blitzes danzo ez diff.

I've always assumed that Shisui has an Obito type MS. Both eyes have Koto, but they don't work exactly the same. One is weaker, with a shorter cooldown that Danzo uses and Shisui abused during the war, but it's otherwise just a strong Genjutsu that can be broken if you know you're under it. The other is the Crow's eye that got used on Itachi, which casually overwrites control of an Edo summon, has a ten year cooldown, and apparently can't be broken as easily. Sasuke and Itachi broke each other out of Sage Kabuto's Tayuya Genjutsu, but Itachi wasn't freed of the jutsu, so if EMS Sasuke can't break it, I don't see how fodder kage guards could've done it to Mifune if they were the exact same.

I'd always assumed that he was going to Koto Fugaku and use his influence as head of the clan to, if not stop the coup entirely, then at least delay it until another way could be found. The issue with it being AoE is that it doesn't really make sense. If Danzo's eye is the AoE effect, why would he only cast it on Mifune and not the other Kage and their guards? If he were under genjutsu, Aoi shouldn't have been able to reveal it. While if the other eye is AoE... that's all kinds of broken if it can place that level of Genjutsu on multiple people. Maybe it was and Itachi just had it set to activate on his eyes and no one else, but that still seems a bit weird. Why would Shisui not immediately Koto the entire clan the second he heard there was gonna be a coup? If one eye were AoE, I'd be inclined to say that it was Danzo's and he hadn't realized anyone could've seen through the jutsu, being unaware that Aoi had a byakugan. But either way is a head Canon until Kishimoto says otherwise.

Well Minato already fought a character that uses Body Flicker. Not only that, but they also had a lighting cloak which enhanced their speed far further. And not only THAT, but Minato was also fighting the 8-tailed Jinchuriki at the same time. And he kicked their asses. So Shisui absolutely stands no chance. Even if you say Shisui is Kage level, Minato fought two Kage level opponents and no diffed them. And this was a slightly weaker Minato than the one used in this video.

Minato didn't "no diff" Ay and Bee. Ay actually states that he fought Minato many times meaning that they were clearly relative if they can clash many times and Minato couldn't kill Ay in any of those encounters. And not only this but Minato tells Ay that he thinks the next time they meet, they will probably be Kage. Meaning Ay was fighting tail end of 3rd war Minato and even Hokage Minato. This is consistent because then 16 years later in shippuden, Ay is compared to Minato in speed multiple times.

I think it's best if you compared the two jutsu's in comparison Minato's flying Raijin seems superior to body flicker what's weird is these are completely difficult to teach. For the Koto argument, you also have to account for Minato’s speed vs visual prowess. Like taking Sasuke vs Ai for example, despite the fact that Amaterasu appears wherever the user is looking, the 4th Raikage was fast enough to just move out the way of it. Minato was even faster. There is no sealing jutsu that I know of that makes you immune to Genjutsu. Genjutsu is also not a mental attack. What we see in Houki's fight in Boruto is a skill that he developed under Sai to counter NINJUTSU that attacks the mind, such as the mind transfer jutsu of the Yamanaka clan. It might help with genjutsu based torture techniques, but it doesn't not just reject genjutsu full stop. On top of that, the way Shisui's genjutsu works would make such a defense irrelevant. His kotoamatsukami is so subtle the victim doesn't realize anything has happened at all. Unless an outside ally tells them they're under genjutsu, he'll never even know there's something he needs to defend against.

I've always described Minato as in the second tier of Naruto, at least pre-war. Him and Obito are second only to Madara and Hashirama. They can definitely throw hands with and contend temporarily with the top, and they most likely won't win, but it will never be a total stomp.

I don't think Minato stacks up to Madara or Hashirama before his death. Minato dies to the nine tails, and while this was after fighting Obito most of the fatigue Minato had was from protecting the village by teleporting away beast bombs. We could argue that he'd have done better if he hadn't needed to protect the village, but that still makes it hard to argue he could hold his own against Hashirama or Madara. Hashirama on the other hand was not only able to best all the tailed beasts, but he was able to fight Madara and the nine tails at the same time. Now if Minato had lived a full life? Absolutely. He probably could have surpassed Madara and Hashirama. He died at 24. Hashirama and Madara were older when they fought. I would be surprised if Minato couldn't work out Rasenshuriken or a similar wind style rasengan if he had more time to refine his jutsu. The guy went perfect sage on his first try. He would have learned alot. If we consider Nine Tails Minato at the point he died, then I think that Minato would be more comparable to the living Hashirama and Madara. Again, he went KCM cloak immediately without any practice. Using Naruto as a baseline, that's a huge amp not just in terms of speed and power but in how much chakra he can pull from.

In the anime he completely underestimated Danzo I’m assuming because he knows that he’s much stronger than him without Danzo having those eyes. Shisui imo had the potential to grow in power similar to Itachi / Minato but died too young. Shisui received a similar reputation to younger Minato where people essentially had “run on sight” and while he used body flicker anyone who was not an Uchiha / sharingan user (and maybe Byakugan user) thought it was teleportation cause it was so fast. I do believe Shisui even at his peak would have been slightly below Minato BUT if he was able to get EMS and perfect susanoo I think it would be a close fight even with KCM Minato. Also, Minato is too fast and clever; within 2 seconds Minato would realize Shisui isn’t truly teleporting but moving incredibly fast between space and warp a kunai in his path lol. TLDR: Shisui potential = 4th strongest Hokage (Naruto; Hashirama; Minato; Shisui) but he died too young to reach peak.

How kotoamatsukami works according to what I've been able to glean 1) The eye Danzo had is the super subtle genjutsu that doesn't require eye contact, but can be broken out of normally. Can probably be used at will given Danzo using it on Mifune so casually. 2) The eye Itachi had is the unbreakable genjutsu with a 10 year cooldown that requires close eye contact.

I didn't think it was such a question among the community. I always thought it was relatively obvious that someone who had as many feats and narrative bits supporting him would be stronger than Shisui. Koto wouldn't be a problem if Minato teleported to him and stabbed him in the eyes. If Danzo can play "gotcha eye!" then a character with space time jutsu who was known as the fastest Shinobi could definitely accomplish it. If people agree Minato could/did beat the Obito of that time period, why wouldn't he beat Shisui? Itachi knows Shisui's strength, yet didn't both him and Minato come to the conclusion that teen Obito was Madara? (dw I'm not saying Minato>Madara, just that they both thought "this guy is impressive enough to possibly fit the legends told about Madara" etc) At the very least, if Shisui has susanoo in canon and Minato couldn't get through it, Minato just leaves. Shisui isn't outright killing him or leaving him beaten. I don't see that happening though, since Minato likes to leave hiraishin marks on opponents and get them when their defense is lowered. Maybe he can even teleport into that small area within the susanoo where the user and those they protect can stand in. I have 3 questions for shisui feats. 1: how fast is shisui? this kid is literally capable of creating afterimages with the teleportation justu. 2: Doesnt kotoamatsukami work on one person at a time and require eye contact. Maybe I need to rewatch some scenes, but I thought that it did require eye contact. I also remember when someone tried to debate me that koto can affect multiple people at once, however in the novel, shisui admitted that he was only capable of putting fugaku alone in Koto. 3: how good at taijustu is shisui? In the novels Shisui was keeping up with an elite jonin hyuuga in taijustu. Their fight took place when shisui was like 11 or 12 I think.

Seems like weaker (Danzo's) koto can do it with a lower cooldown time, without the MS even having to look at the target (since he mindfucked Mifune while wearing bandages over his eye) while the one everyone talks about is the other eye, which needs to at least look at that target's eye if not make eye contact, with stronger effects but ridiculous cooldown time. I think this is the case regardless of whether the stronger one is also AoE.

I think the best part of this matchup is that they both had "run on sight" orders in the wars. That's such a massive flex honestly. Also I think it's important to note that Swag has made a point before of making it clear that an age difference can mean a lot. We're definitely comparing a teenager to a guy in his mid-twenties. If Shisui had been able to live and train another 8 years, imagine the possibilities. Even Itachi died at an age younger than Minato was during the Nine-Tails attack.

Like sure, younger characters will likely grow stronger with age, but that also applies to the older characters as well, especially in this case with Minato being relatively young. There's no estimate to where Anbu Itachi or Shisui lies, only that they was considered among the strongest Uchiha, but that could be interpreted as the average Uchiha not surpassing average Chunin and Jonin, and most characters we see battle in the series are the exceptional and much better than average. We don't even know where Anbu Itachi ranks among the Anbu, only that he was exceptional *for his age*. The time frame between the Massacre and Part I is 4-5 years and to Part II is an additional 3. Do you recall where Kakashi, Guy, Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura and so many others ended up after a few years of work? Even Akatsuki are implied to improve over time. Obito goes from soundly losing to Minato to getting ready to throw hands with the whole world. Kisame goes from roughly Part I 3T Kakashi level to Part II Guy requiring Gates to take him out. Do you really think Itachi didn't train in preparation for his plans and stated close to his just hitting puberty self?

Naruto using multi shadow clone jutsu is significantly more dangerous than konohamaru using it. Hashirama defeated Madara using a SUBSTITUTION and a Wood clone. Flying raijin was developed to counter the precognitive ability of the sharingan. The body flicker is designed to decieve and leave an afterimage. Body flicker is the indirect counter to flying raijin. Minato still needs to process where he thinks shisui's real body is and which is the after image. If he fucks up and targets the wrong image, shisui can kotoamatsukami him or they continue teleporting to different images. I'm not saying that shisui will win, but body flicker is a good technique. *It doesn't matter how strong a Shinobis jutsu are, it matters how well they can use their jutsu until you get to Madara and hashirama level.

My theory about Kotoamatsukami: Given that Shisui is the original user of the jutsu it stands to reason that he could use it every 10 days. I came to this conclusion due to Ao knowing intimate details about the genjutsu, therefore Shisui must have used it on a number of occasions during the Third Shinobi World War, so much so that the hidden mist was able to gather Intel about it. Now as for Danzo his timeframe was much shorter (twice in one day, he was going to use on Obito after he dealt with Sasuke) due to the influence of Hashirama cells. And Itachi's crow is self explanatory.

I think there are still two versions. Danzo's was the one that took less time to use again. Perhaps the cells let him use it more frequently than the original owner, or perhaps they just let him use all those eyes as a normal person. I think the one Shisui was going to use for the village's sake would have been the one that takes ages to be used again. Another special thing about that jutsu is how Danzo could use it without it having to even look at the target, let alone make eye contact, since it was behind bandages

I feel like many underestimate Minato's power, oddly enough... which is saying something, because everyone knows he's extraordinary. His intellect is considered to be top-shelf. His speed is the gold standard. His Flying Thunder God jutsu alone is so strategically useful; I'm convinced the manga and anime only scratched the surface of its potential. On top of that, he demonstrates mastery of Sage Mode (for reference, when Naruto attained Sage Mode Shikaku Nara considered him to be well above everyone else in Konoha), which would enhance his already impressive physical strength, speed, stamina, reflexes, perception, and durability. The Raikage was convinced that no one could surpass Minato when he fought him (and Minato was only a Jonin at the time). And when you bring in his Nine-Tails Chakra Mode, all of that increases significantly. Let's presume -- as I think wouldn't be a large leap -- that Minato could combine his Sage Mode and his Nine-Tails Chakra Mode. Just imagine the sheer speed and power, alongside his genius-level intellect. Could this version of Minato defeat Valley of the End Madara by himself?

This is a very good question. I honestly wouldn't know who'd win in terms of speed or win in a battle. We unfortunately haven't seen Shisui in action. My questions are what was the secret to Shisui speed? Was it merely a physically based technique or did it involve genjutsu to alternate his opponents perception or time awareness to make him appear faster or slower? Minato's reaction speed and reflexes are phenomenal! His Flying Raijin usage was ridiculously fast but required a marking to teleport to. Was Shisui faster than the third or fourth raikage's top speed? Shisui had an order to retreat if you ever encountered him did the raikages?

His body flicker is so fast that he is leaving after shadow which he learned to infuse with chakra to effectively become shadow clones. Minato does the same thing but with actual shadow clones and flying Raijin which makes him appear to be everywhere in the battlefield. Shisui combines his with regular Genjustu to basically immobilize multiple opponents at the same time. Minato's body flicker is actually better than or at the same peak levels as Shisui. From legend talks alone, we know there was in fact a run onsite order for Shisui of the body flicker just like the Yellow Flash and Wicked Eye Fugaku. Whether Shisui is actually stronger than Fugaku is debatable. Just like Itachi, that man was committed to fooling everyone. No one knew what he was actually capable of and he wanted peace. No one knew he had a Mangekyo Sharingan that people like Danzo and others knew nothing about. Itachi might've known.

These types of matchups are unfair because theres almost no info on Shisui, a lot is said about him in the series from other characters but no actual battles are seen. Honestly if he did have fights in the series I think he wouldn't get stomped by sick itachi, considering how itachi wanted to be strong as him only a year before he became Anbu captain. Seeing as these characters tend to grow stronger as they get older, Shisui at the time of his death should at least be on par with sick itachi, and if he didn't die he would probably always be stronger than itachi like he has been. But of course this is just my speculation, giving him benefit of the doubt cus I like shisui.
