Good one. Your mind is the space inside this room and awareness is the space both inside and outside the room...and A thought is to your mind as your mind is to awareness, just an activity.

I have listened to the video 3 times and I love your particular collection of Rupert's explanations here re: the mind. Very helpful in clarifying, and ending the inner conflict I constantly feel with my thinking mind :) because it's not "my" mind. I don't have to fight the mind knowing that it is an "activity"/function of Consciousness! Thank you... I'm sure I'll listen to it again...

Such powerful pointers! And delivered with such clarity and eloquence. Rupert’s use of analogies is so logical and an appropriate means of getting the point across. Thank you Alan! 🙏🙏
Rupert’s teaching offers so much clarity if without it I’d be still struggling on this journey not sure for how much longer. Your channel helped me to accelerate in understanding his teaching. - of course from a linear standpoint :) This is another wonderful complication perfectly putting together, can’t express enough appreciation to Thank You for all you do with this channel 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤
Ooooh, I loved this idea: our mind relates to consciousness as a thought to the mind. Like a thought is an activity of the mind, a mind is an activity of consciousness. Like it is said in Christianity: we are like thoughts in the Mind of God.

Comparison of ideas or say thoughts to understand itself is another thought. (I am wondering even when sitting calmly we are at the (approximate) speed of 1670 kmph which is that of earth on equator) Now gradually I am able to see everything seemingly static also is in action and balanced dynamically in a perfect way similar to the luggages and passengers of some aeroplane. Flowers nowadays are more beautiful than ever, activities are seen everywhere !!!! In the meantime it happened that I came across this video. Got certified in my own way that my Mind too is an activity of Consciousness!! Seed of activities must produce another activity only !!! Clearly the 'Thought' became activity of Mind. Registration of occurance of thoughts is going on into records of Memory. Most repeated records have become skills of mind. Hope to see Consciousness exactly like explained in Non-duality at some point. Thanks Rupert Guruji ! Thanks Alan. Om Namah Shivaya

Hey a genuine question here ... What is mind other than a thought ?
@wilma83263 жыл бұрын
@@VipinKumar-do8vf Mind is the "spaceless place'' where thoughts, feelings, perceptions and sensations appear and disappear. It also consists of principles and patterns of believe, the foundations on which the body-mind experience is build. It seems localised as it is focused on a body and a person. It seems like it is private and not connected to the collective mind, the universal mind, to consciousness as a whole. It seems that all the thoughts that appear in the mind are private thoughts. But that is just a question of where attention is focused. I hope this helps?

Thank you So Much for pulling this content together that give his “definition” for what he’s seeing as “mind”. When I hear Rupert or Eckhart or anyone I feel is on to this, use common spiritual terms without defining there understanding of them I get lost somewhat bc what’s “their definition”. I keep seeing there’s a different definition per person for common term (mind, spirit, god, the world, enlightenment , love, awakening, “I” or “Self”, past or future life etc...) . Even if there definition is just slightly different it can change the understanding of the rest of what they say that follows that term .

Always love listening to Rupert but sitting here reflecting on 'mind' being the activity of 'consciousness.' So how do we come to peace with issues like atrocious acts of violence taking place everyday? I can't seem to connect it all.
@alanneachell90923 жыл бұрын
By recognising ourselves as awareness we naturally start to act ethically and morally and it becomes obvious that identifying as thought is the human problem. I find that I can only deal with the circumstances that appear for me and I do my best to deal with them from presence. Anything that I can't have influence over, I don't waste my energy over while not loosing empathy and the possibility of being able to maybe do something in the future. Of course, if we are moved to be of benefit in a particular arena, we are well equipped to utilise the wisdom of presence/ awareness in that pursuit.

Altzheimers is of the brain not the mind. The mind is another word for awareness and is not affected by anything. Rupert uses the mind in two ways - individual mind and infinite mind - so it can be confusing.
