Perhaps some people are too young to remember this live broadcast. perhaps some people didn't watch it. For those of us of a certain age, there seemed nothing wrong with a tribute to Lennon days after 9-11. And watching this show, with all the amazing acts, notably Cyndi Lauper singing "Strawberry Fields" in Central Park, Kevin Spacey surprising the audience with his own rendition of "Mind Games," by the end, I found there were tears on my face. And you can make fun. But it was truly magic.

This is a significant moment and brings back some ambivalent memories for many, I'm sure. When this program originally aired it was within days after Sept 11th, and it was LIVE to the world. What originally was to be a tribute to John in keeping his music and memories alive became a tribute to New York, peace, and anti-violence, all of which Lennon of course stood for but the show became a message to terrorists and to the people of New York, especially. Spacey knocked it out of the park. YES.

He is probably one of the best actors ever, but we had no idea he had this voice. I always wished we had taped it and was overjoyed to find this on KZbin. This was such a wonderful night, and really for me, of alllllll the incredible performers, I would have to say Kevin's performance moved me the most, his passion was so obvious, coming from the soul, not just singing the words. Of course, this whole concert had me crying half the time...... but in an inspirational way. Spacey is truly one of the best!

It's funny, if you look back through our history of music,there have been singers, their voices aren't like everyone else, there's something there, ..despite they can't really sing... yet we love them. Why? Well they have their own unique sound, but mostly, it's because of their soul, their passion for not simply words coming out, but a message, one of love. Spacey did just that and more, that night. His honesty is palpable, he truly cares, and he loves to sing. He was amazing, moving.. Great!

Kevin Spacey is fantastic at everything! " Beyond The Sea" was super! He should have put it out the next year..because " Ray" ( Jamie Foxx) was outstanding and deserved all the Oscar's it/he got! Bobby Darin's story was just as wonderful..and Spacey did a super job with the story and he's own singing as well and what a great dancer he is too! He's a funny dude too! God bless John Lennon as well....I was 17 when he was gunned down for no fucking reason!! He was only 40! He had so much more music in him!
