I showed Jennifer the waterslide a few months ago when the IG story first came out. She said..."You're not doing it...Just so you know." I'm taking my cue on this activity from my wife when we're there. So, now there are two things I'm not allowed to do in Davao... Go to the sabong and do this waterslide thingee. We'll be going whitewater rafting, ziplining, and sky cycling... so I think we'll be getting our fill of adventure. Hopefully, we'll do the Roxas night market. I saw the Marco Polo in the background, so I know exactly where it is. Jennifer's alma mater is right next door too, so it's familiar territory for us. My kids need some more adventurous eating to broaden their horizons. They need to hang around a guy like you who tries things just for the hell of it. Getting lectures from dad or mom about being open to new and different experiences sometimes falls on deaf, young ears. Yeah, I'll eat durian, and the smell doesn't bother me a whole lot. To me... if I'm eating outdoors at a restaurant, I expect to have the scent waft on by me on the wind. It's part of the experience, so I really have come to expect it when I'm there. It's part of the whole dining atmosphere that I appreciate now. The thing that I LOVE TO EAT IN DAVAO IS KINILAW!!! I will be eating a ton of that in a couple of weeks. The other things that I'm dying for is good lechon that is accompanied by the small bottles of ice cold Coke. This is the Coke with the natural sugar and not the corn syrup used in most places. Eating crunchy skin and washing it down with the Coke is heavenly. The difficult part is trying not to have the Coke bottle slip out of your hands because they are coated with slick baboy fat. Oooohhhh, I just closed my eyes and started dreaming about breaking off a piece of crunchy skin and biting into it. Back to reality. I hope you have more Davao footage! It's getting me more and more excited for the trip. So... enjoy your family, get out and run around, and keep putting out more stuff for us to see! Keep on keepin' on!

Tsong, pareho tayo! I don’t think durian smells bad either - it just has a very “strong” smell that sticks to everything around you, like the walls, your clothes, and such. I think when people avoid it, its really because of that & not because it smells bad hahaha!

I am actually from Miral, now Bansalan hehehe, and we (my family) used to go to NIA (we call it NIA then) during my childhood, together with our neighbours and bond there.
