That edema sometimes caused serious infections called cellulitis that would require hospital stays and intravenous antibiotics. I used to have COPD symptoms from decades of smoking. I used to have occasional high blood pressure and other chronic health problems for decades. All of these are gone. And they are gone because of intermittent fasting and eating high quality locally produced real foods. For just over two years, i have been eating just one good meal every day that i prepare myself. The problems started with her skin, then pain in shoulders when laying in bed, fatigue, bad sleep, pain in leg joints, cataract, heart palpitations, high blood pressure, terrible digestion, and finally sclerodermia which finished her off. NONE of the doctors asked a word about her diet. I tried to put her on a gluten free diet, but it was already too late and I didn't know that it may take up to three months to see results, especially in very complicated cases and elderly. So I gave up after just a few weeks seeing no results.

(weak positive) Before I could get a biopsy for celiac (the gold standard of diagnosis) I went gluten free etc. I dropped 20 lbs, eliminated brain fog, slept better, no acid reflux, had more energy and am convinced American foods/additives/diet = not healthy. Waiting on results for biopsy but none the less, will continue to eat fresh foods, mostly vegan, walk 150 minutes a week. No gluten has been my key to better health. I too am not on any medications at age 74. (I do have high cholesterol but will not take statins) My diet improved those cholesterol numbers dramatically though.

I got 3 of his books about 10 years ago. The first one was Wheat Belly, I felt so much better following his advice to stop all grains. These grains today are manipulated. To this day I make my muffins from his recipes, almonds ground to flour is a great substitute for white flour. The flax seed makes a great bread. Your ice cream is delicious, some in fridge right now. Cheese cake with almond flour crust is delicious. My friends ask do I have any blueberry muffins baked when they visit. This flour does cost a lot more than other flours but it’s worth it. I buy the whole almonds and grind them myself that makes them less costly. Almond flour baked goods keep you full also. I use stevia and put about a quarter teaspoon of regular sugar in the batter that makes a dozen muffins. That little bit takes the after taste of stevia away. You really helped me with my many health problems, I speak of you often. Just got a copy of 30 minute Cookbook for a friend who likes to eat healthy. I changed to a plant based diet not long and along with your advice I feel even better. Doctors are not trying to get rid of our health problems, it’s a matter of making money, it’s sick care not health care.

Where/in which countries has celiac disease risen? Please be as specific and as accurate as you can bc I am interested in getting to the bottom of celiac disease: It’s causes and treatments. I have heard sime European countries diagnose celiac disease in infancy but in other countries such as the USA and Australia, people can be well past middle age before they’re diagnosed, if they are at all. Perhaps the rise of celiac disease you’re referring to is the increase in the numbers of people actually being diagnosed rather than an increase in the prevalence of it? That’s why details and specifics are critical when making decisions based on “the numbers.” I don’t want to make lifestyle and lifelong decisions based on faulty assumptions due to misinformation.

Why, is it that Europe has a lot less issues with gluten? Here is a few reasons, a) stricter standards of there regulations regarding what comes into there country, b) No roundup, No GMO seeds, No highbred wheat, it alters the original wheat. Gluten isn't the problem, the problem is our foods have been purposely contaminated the wheat, & soil! Not just bread, but most of our foods, just read the ingredients? Some of those ingredients can't even pronouns. Very little regulations on our foods, like pesticides, there should be no pesticides allow to be used in any of our foods. So folks be aware of all the foods we are eating. My brother was in Vietnam back in the day, fast forward to now, this country allowed Agent Orange "chemical herbicide and defoliant defoliant, one of the tactical use Rainbow Herbicides" It was used by the USA Military as part of its herbicidal warfare program". From 1961 to 1971" look it up, so back to my brother is was in Vietnam about that time !966, 67. Just a year he got cancer, so make a long story short, there a class action lawsuit by a group of Vietnam veterans, & the courts ruled in there favor so my brother was compensated for this violation. I'm sure he would rather have his health, then the money that was award to him. Look up Agent Orange side-effects a long list. So what is my point? This are the same companies that created Roundup (glyphosate) Monsanto's. So folks this Herbicide, no different than Agent Orange, it's in our water, like fluoride, other contaminates! I can to my local Hardware store & its available to purchase! We the USA has Absolutely No standers, these poisons should never be allowed to be used on our foods. One last thing glyphosate cause cancer of the lymph nodes, already proven look it up! So nothing is wrong with the original uncontaminated wheat that was created by God. It got us through many a difficult time way back in the day, this country & all over the world, when I grew-up back in the 1950's, 60's 70's there was no problem with Gluten none at all. This is what these doctors should asking what happen the Wheat? Italy has no problem with sourdough bread, or France? What.

Norman Borlaug the grandfather of Green Revolution invented High-yield crops. He then together with US government, and Monsanto enforced upon Mexican government to use it in Mexican fields. This drove all the farmers out of their family farms into the city. High-yield crops can’t survive without Monsanto products , but this product then dried out the soil. When Borlaug went back to Mexico, in 80s, he saw the dead soil, empty villages, hungry Mexicans. Did it stop the US government and Monsanto? No! Today USA is dealing with the illegal immigrants, they are the children and grandchildren of those farmers driven out of their villages by the action enforced upon them by the Nobel Prize winner N.Borlaug. Thanks for this. My son at age 19 had non alcoholic fatty liver disease aka NAFLD...he has special needs and doesn't drink a drop of alcohol, his GP (doctor) prescribed a medication that i declined to give him, instead i addressed it by going low carb (he was on a already gluten free diet since age 16) and i cut out 90% of his sugary treats...not that he had many to start with. Lo and behold a few montgs later his blood test and ultrasound scan showed he no longer had NAFLD. I recently broached the subject of SIBO and SIFO (due to his continued constipation and bloating) and was told by his doctor "thats not GP land" they'd never even heard of either.

Thank You Sirs for Your efforts to bring some light🔦 into the gut. When we are suffering - and maybe in pain - it is especially difficult to make long term decisions. We tend to want the short fix, the medicine, the sweet food and so on. Maybe what is lacking are shining examples that can mentor us regularly. Many of our parents or grandparents have their knowledge from TV advertisements 😮💨 Shopping refrigerated stuff was *popular* and a sign that you were wealthy enough to afford it, right? And many were happy to afford some bread 🍞 at least and maybe not even always that, the whole family going to bed hungry. So maybe this sheds some light on recent history, too.

The whole microbiome discussion is really valuable. The next step probably. But I would wish for a more nuanced discussion. Instead of declaring all grains bad, I think we need to realize that the goal should be to bring the digestive tract back to a state, where we can work with grains. Many world class athletes would laugh in someones face, if they said that e.g. oatmeal is bad for them. And many more would just not do that, because they are too respectful. Now, the follower of nutrition research might believe they would all be performing better without. That though just speaks of a lack of knowledge of competitive sports nutrition, because what athletes eat, is not determined by brainwashing through mainstream dietists, but by trial and error and the repeated victory of the food that works, via athletes who eat them. So, leave grains out to avoid problems with a compromised gut? Yes! Is leaving them out the end-all be-all of human nutrition? Nope.
@winniecash1654 Жыл бұрын
All you need is to experience my gut on grains to know grains aren't good for me. Whether it's gluten or glyphosate, they tear me up inside. I'm only talking about myself and some other people I know who have the same problem. I wouldn't know if this is true for everyone everywhere.
@advex4428 Жыл бұрын
@@winniecash1654 I agree. I just would wanna see the discussion on two different levels. 1.) People with problems, like you and myself. Then the advice to avoid grains with gluten is valuable. 2.) People without symptoms. Then it may be bad advice, depending on the personal situation. I like to talk about athletes for this. They know they perform better on grains, so it wouldn't be smart to avoid them, cutting off their income in case of pros. I just would like to see more discussion about getting back to tolerating all foods, like eg water fasting has gotten a bunch of foods back into my diet already, without problems now. And those that legitimately help people with problems by putting out information should be more aware, that having those problems is not normal, so they also would try to lead people back to complete health.

@@winniecash1654 Not totally. I'm much better eating grains. I am ok eating non-gluten grains. And overall, I believe we must be smart about it and do what the ancestors did. In the case of grains, soaking it overnight in an acid, and for bread eating sourdough bread. These little critters, the fermentation bacteria, are your friends. Yes, they get killed during baking. I used to have a fatty liver condition. I used to have pre-diabetic symptoms. I used to have edema - swelling in the feet and lower legs from excess fluids. I avoid sugars, all highly processed junk 'foods' and excessive carbs - no breads, cereals, pastas, etc. I am healthier and stronger than i was 10 years ago. It is almost like aging in reverse! Tips and advice: ● Removing grains from one's diet can lead to improved health and weight loss, as well as a reduction in symptoms of conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and rheumatoid arthritis. ● The speaker, William, recommends avoiding certain grains, such as wheat, barley, and rye, which contain a protein called gliadin that can cause inflammation and damage to the gut. ● He suggests that sourdough bread is not a good option for those with gluten intolerance or sensitivity, as the fermentation process does not eliminate the gluten. ● William recommends using a device called the AIRE device, which measures hydrogen and methane gas in the breath, to diagnose and monitor conditions such as SIBO (Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth). ● He suggests that food intolerances, such as bloating, abdominal discomfort, and diarrhea, that occur within 90 minutes of consumption are a good indicator of SIBO. ● William recommends avoiding processed carbohydrates and sugars, and instead focusing on whole, nutrient-dense foods. ● He suggests that the gut microbiome plays a crucial role in overall health, and that restoring balance to the microbiome through diet and supplements can lead to improved health outcomes. ● William recommends using certain supplements, such as berberine and curcumin, to support gut health and reduce inflammation. ● He suggests that fecal transplants may not be the best option for restoring gut health, and instead recommends using stool banks and screening donors for health markers. ● William emphasizes the importance of being mindful of the monetization of health conditions and the pharmaceutical industry's influence on healthcare, and recommends seeking out natural and holistic approaches to health whenever possible. Oats: Oats are mentioned as being less problematic than other grains, with its avenalin protein being noted. Oats are positioned as being closer to the more benign end of the grain spectrum, with rice being the most benign. However, it is also stated that even oats are not completely free of problems, and that there is no grain that is entirely without issues. Sleep: Consuming a high-count lactobacillus reuteri yogurt has been shown to improve sleep quality. Specifically, it has been reported to increase restorative sleep and extend REM periods by 20-25%. Additionally, anecdotal evidence from thousands of people who have consumed the yogurt, including the author, reports improved sleep quality, with the author mentioning that they now sleep straight through nine hours with vivid dreams. The use of active graphic devices like an Apple Watch or a Fitbit to track sleep patterns is also mentioned as a way to monitor the effectiveness of this approach. Meat: Meat is not considered to be a contributing factor to coronary disease or colon cancer. The narrator suggests that observational epidemiologic studies that linked meat consumption to these diseases were flawed and based on "garbage science." The author also emphasizes the importance of eating grass-fed, pasture-raised, and full-fat meats, and avoiding highly processed meats. Additionally, the narrator distinguishes between cured meats with sodium nitrite, which may be carcinogenic, and fermented meats, such as salami, which are raw and fermented with microbes, and are considered to be safe and delicious. The narrator also recommends eating the fat and saving the bones to make soups or broths, and consuming organs like liver, which are rich in nutrients. Fatty liver: Fatty liver is a condition that affects 150 million Americans, with 50% of them having SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth). Fatty liver can lead to cirrhosis, a terrible condition characterized by a swollen belly, jaundice, and varicose veins. However, it is incredibly easy to turn around within two weeks through nutritional changes, rather than relying on drugs or procedures. The main drivers of fatty liver are the consumption of grains and sugars, which the liver converts into triglyceride fats through a process called de Novo lipogenesis. This process is exacerbated by insulin resistance, which affects tens of millions of people in the country. Additionally, dysbiosis, particularly SIBO, can contribute to fatty liver by allowing microbes to crawl up the small bowel and cause inflammation. It is also mentioned that fatty liver is not just a benign condition, but a serious one that can lead to cirrhosis and liver failure. The narrator criticizes the medical system for telling patients that there is nothing they can do about fatty liver, when in fact, nutritional changes can make a significant difference. Fungi: According to the document text provided, to kill fungi, one can use berberine, curcumin, and food source essential oils, but they need to be diluted heavily to avoid being too caustic. For example, a few drops can be mixed with olive oil. Additionally, it is recommended to slow down the approach, space out the dosing, reduce the dose, and consider taking activated charcoal, such as 1000 milligrams, to subdue the die-off reaction phenomenon that can occur when killing off fungi. Gut microbiome: The gut microbiome is a crucial aspect of overall health, and its imbalance can lead to various chronic diseases. The gut microbiome is composed of trillions of microbes that turn over rapidly, and their breakdown products can enter the bloodstream and cause inflammation. A healthy gut microbiome is essential for maintaining a strong mucus barrier, which protects the body from microbes and food. A diet lacking in fiber can lead to an imbalance in the gut microbiome, causing certain species of bacteria, such as Akkermansia, to consume human mucus and leading to colitis and intestinal inflammation. This can result in the export of bacterial breakdown products into the bloodstream, causing endotoxemia, which can lead to various chronic diseases, including rosacea, psoriasis, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and depression. Furthermore, the narrator emphasizes the importance of paying attention to the intake of prebiotic fibers, such as those found in legumes, onions, garlic, and root vegetables, to feed the beneficial microbes in the gut. A diet that is deficient in these fibers can lead to long-term health problems, including insulin resistance, high blood sugar, high blood pressure, and degenerative disorders. The gut microbiome is closely linked to the development of various diseases, including SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth), which is believed to be more widespread than type 2 diabetes and pre-diabetes epidemics. The narrator also highlight the importance of considering the gut microbiome in the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases, rather than just relying on pharmaceuticals and procedures.

Even foods like parmesan cheese uses sawdust as a filler. At what point is our bread no longer considered bread. Eating processed foods might seem like a cheaper alternative but besides the fact that most fresh produce is cheaper than processed foods, your body reacts to fresh foods differently. Our bodies are like race car engines. In order to run them efficiently they need the right kind of fuels. Eating healthy is a process that takes time and discipline, but over time the body gets use to having the right fuel to run it.

I tell hubby when he liked to (used to) brag about how cheap his $1 McDonald’s cheeseburger and $1 coke lunch was: Pay now. Or pay later. But pay you will!

@@JillofAllTrades2 so true. Look at those lines of cars at those McDonald’s drive throughs. 5, 6 or 7 cards sometimes. If radical politics want to save the planet…..save our health first. You want to spend 7 trillion dollars on something….start with this.

@@JillofAllTrades2 I remember when McD's hamburger was 15 cents. Fries were 10 cents and milkshake 20 cents. Total: 45 cents for lunch.

Love Thy Neighbour, said a great one thousands of years back. We thought neighbour beside our house. He told, neighbor within us. He told the Farmer within us. He meant to Give to farmer within, so he wont become greedy & farm more than needed. Dont let His Dopamine whacky and keep it married to body hormones. Like one wife / for the need than want, principle. Cultivation is calculated growing. Farming is culturing within a Frame, making fuel / energy etc. So Neighbour is Farmer within, who should be loved (given) so he remain married to Need (body) than Want [mind]. Alas, only our Thoughts evolved (we think that even), to Produce than Educe.
