Along with Jon Kabat-Zinn, Mark is one of the most informative mindfulness teachers. If a friend is having difficulty, I recommend they read and practice his book.

Great post. For me, and I'm sure many others, the very idea of showing self compassion is quite a radical idea. We are extremely hard on ourselves despite not choosing the cards we are dealt, for better or worse :)

I am just getting into the concept of Mindfulness and this example video made it so easy and rewarding...I have never done anything like this before but afterwards I honestly felt calmer and more restful...It was late evening so it has helped me settle down for bed.... I certainly believe practicing this exercise will be a life changing experience ...Thank you so much for posting your video....

Not had the opportunity to attend a live event, however following listen to this KZbin today which was recommended by a mindfulness group class. I found it inspiring and noticed my understanding opened that little bit further.

Hearing that point often: “it is not so much what happens to you but how you react to it” . FINALLY I can BELIEVE that.. if indeed I can become mindful in the moment and stay out of the peripheral storm going around me, real or not, regardless.. more pain YES much harder but just the same then it will be like a ball that bounces : the higher you bounce back the higher there is a momentum that takes over or better like those balls that set each other off .. there is a rhythmic to it and a calming….

Mindfulness training is very good . It is the best "religion" and the best "non-religion" .

The noise of the Crowd is deafening all the little scenarios some talking. Some listening some people avoiding the person next to them and then talking to the other person, on the other side, all of that going on ….is all me ..it’s like the committee in my head.

I am trying my best but to meditate with a high level of anxiety and some depression IT JUST STIRS UP MY ANXIETY !!! I COULD STAND STILL FOR 2 MINUTES AND THEN FOR 7 MINUTES AND HAD TO STOP BEFORE IT GOT MUCH WORSE !! God !! what a suffering !!
@Counselingtherapyonline8 жыл бұрын
+selmo gliksman With practice you can learn how to "sit" with your anxiety without becoming reactive and without becoming emotionally overwhelmed. This is the first stage of Mindfulness Therapy and it works extremely well.

dionisio454 dionisio454 . Oh I do so understand what you are feeling. I too would love to jump off the wheel of anxiety long enough to experience some stillness which would enable me to enter the peace which I’m sure meditation would give me.

Great presentation. In Buddhism mindfulness is only one aspect of Noble Eightfold Path. To get a complete benefit you have to follow the full Eightfold Path. Please join Dhamma Wheel forum for the discussion.

That is lovely! I also really like mindfulness. 🙏 For my mindfulness meditation I have been loving a lot of #sriavinashdotv at the moment. I find Sri Avinash's talks so uplifting. 💓💚

I think long lecture can be counter productive, the same thing could have been said in a quarter of the time. I praxtice one hour a day no excuses, usually 1hr20mins and I love what it does, always feel happy which is really worth it, zero stress just happy :)))
@saysaysaywhatyousay9 жыл бұрын
Gigsand Busking You could give a brief overview in a quarter of the time, but Mark Williams really explains Mindfulness incredibly clearly and concisely . Its one thing doing meditation, but its much more useful if you know why it works. I always find him absolutely fascinating no matter how long his talks are..
