TED was well known to me, but not Chris Anderson until now! What an inspiring talk - I feel so connected to all of us out there aiming to build momentum with the good, the kind, the wise. Thank you! 😀

I am often sending little sparks of joy to friends/family. I have for some time wanted to give a little 'spark of joy' to tired mums, when I see them around town. As a mother of a 3 year old, I have a new appreciation for what the job of a mother entails and how they can often sacrifice their own hunger, fatigue etc for their child, putting childs needs first. I am hoping to take action on this today by buying some 'pocket hugs' and gifting them when a mum looks in need for a little pick me up.

Plus, thumbnail of the younger guy actually dressed as a WOLF in the ubiquitous stock trader shirt & waistcoat, in the CEO pose of <let me tell you SHEEP how this is going to be>... Call me cynical.
@jonr66807 күн бұрын
Ooh, I will park this until I have time to focus on this guy. In a sense a kind of hero to me. But equally on a pedestal quite easy to take shots at... A WOLF who (having made his millions) is now older and is craving the compassion that he now observes is enjoyed by the sheep he spent his career EATING. Hmm...

Listening while in bed with a flu . Hard times are impermanent as are good times. Label it good or hard and there begins a problem. Thankful for this teaching 🙏

Positive Thinking by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale and Doing What Matters Doing what Works by Dr Phil McGraw teach the same messages. However, it's refreshing to hear it from a new author. 14:25

The missing letter is ‘I’ for INTEGRITY...that bounds your behavior - rules to live by. Grateful for Dr Doty and others who are incredibly generous, and give so much of their time to help humanity grow. 🧡 ....the Golden Rule ☺️

Maybe someone’s gonna read this…. He mentioned the origin of the Judge. To some extend I agree with his view, yet I do believe there’s so much more to it. I’m up to 30:00 where he speaks about falling back in love with one’s self, the childhood picture and contemplating who you really are etc etc…. Not sure if further into the clip he will mention it but unresolved, adverse childhood experiences are a big factor why our saboteurs have taken over our own self. Esp when it comes to the judge. Having been raised by parents who hardly praised you, even if there was a praise it was attached with some comments. Never having been able to be accepted as who you are, not being understood, seen, emotionally attuned to as a child and everything else ….. I don’t even want to go look for a picture of childhood because it will most likely bring back bad memories. I’m not taking about physical abuse- but emotional neglect is as damaging as anything else which falls under the category of ACEs - adverse childhood experiences. I hope that he will bring up this topic of unresolved childhood traumas. Edit: He did :) 42:30 onwards

Positive Intelligence is not a program for anyone who has been through serious emotional or physical neglect or abuse. Frankly, I have yet to see evidence that Shirzad has a legitimate PhD in Neuroscience but he is able to 'skim the surface' on deep issues enough that hundreds of people have 'bought in' to his program. His main audience are the suit and tie folks in the corporate world and he had done well as a charlatan there (IMO).

Yeah but when you are that wealthy you build in service to others . I mean there are billions of needs and when you have a lot of money you can involved in amazing compassion projects , building homes, helping saved trafficked children : there is no amount of money that can see to all the needs of the world : so the rich that are not happy do not have their values in the right place ❤

Inspiring. I often feel passionate and yet powerless to do anything about the troubles in this world. This gave me an insight into how I can on some level contribute to peace, at least it could be a start. Thank you Axtion For Happiness and Jon Kabat-Zinn.

I was lucky enough to attend the live stream on Wednesday evening, something that even during Covid I avoided doing as I just did not feel able to connect with. I signed up for the live stream with the intention to join, but also accepting the likelihood I would find some excuse not to. I don't know if it was because of the lovely weather Cornwall was treated to yesterday or because more generally life has been good recently, but as the time to join approached and the reminders were received, the usual excuses to join 'next time' didn't signal their arrival. So at a minute to 7pm GMT I found myself logging on, first to the world clock link which comically confused me for a moment or three, then to the actual zoom link further down the reminder email. What followed was an informal, instructive, entertaining, challenging and surprisingly intimate hour and a bit reflecting and meditating on life, the universe and all things mindfulness with Mark and Jon (and a thousand plus others... and I think all of us sent at least one message in the chatbox :) ! ). I really enjoyed the experience. So much so, I actually looked up my local group and filled in the joining form. Thanks for hosting this event with the legendary JKZ and thanks also for the nudge to look for likeminded people near to where I call home. I look forward to taking more opportunities to action happiness whenever I can :)

I think I really like what this lady is saying, but I feel like its really more soothing than the rubbing your arms up and down and the tapping, I like to just hold my arms there. That might be the most comforting way. But this lady is also wise.

There are times when I feel such a strong connection to life and living. But as soon as I am aware of that feeling, it goes and I realise that it’s something that can’t be chased or being aware of. It’s something we feel without actually acknowledging that feeling.
