My personal tip: Lets say, for example, there is a lootchest, but there are multiple shriekers and sensors wich cannot be blocked with wool, because there are other blocks in the way, first make sure you have a way to run (30 blocks or so) then just set off the shriekers by breaking the chest with a relatively empty inventory, quickly pick up all the items and book it for a minute. You will have plenty of time to get away, beacuse it has a 7 sec spawn time (if I'm not mistaken) and on top of that, the Warden is very slow at the start (with 0 aggravation points).

You can avoid this entirely if you place down a wool block near the sensors and then break it, the shrieker can only hear player caused vibrations, and the sensors have a small cooldown between senses vibrations so you can break a wool block as it isn’t a player vibration break the chest then simply sneak away

I've spent a few hours in Ancient Cities getting all the chests I could spot and I haven't died once. Here's a few tips I've learnt when you're planning to escape the warden after summoning it: 1) After you cleared a spot from sensors and shriekers, torch this place up. Use a lot of them. Make the Deep Dark just Deep. This will help guide you and you'll know that you're in a place where you won't set off other sensors or shriekers. Also, you'll know that you already looted those spots. Ancient Cities are gigantic; knowing where you were and where not will come in very handy. 2) Swift Sneak III is a life saver. It makes sneaking a lot faster and ecaping smoother. 3) Always think of what you do in worst case scenarios. Always have your escape route planned. Ask yourself what you would do if breaking this or that block would set off a shrieker. Then, if this really happens, you'll know where to run. 4) After you set off a shrieker and did tip #3, you (immediately) run your escape route. When you're affected by the darkness effect, sneak. By doing this, you'll avoid falling in holes and getting stuck or falling into lava. 5) If you're using shears, enchant those with Efficiency V and Unbreaking III, it will instamine wool which makes it a lot smoother. 6) A technical one: if you're listening to Lena Raine's "Ancestry" while having summoned the warden, turn the music down or off. You'll hear the warden and its heart beat which indicate a lot of things. 7) Bring a spyglass. Sometimes, you won't know if a block in the distance is a shrieker, multiple shriekers or just candles. Using the spyglass will help you differenciate. Also, if you're lucky, you'll see the warden from afar. Watching a warden in its habitat and digging itself back into the ground is an unexpected 1.19 joy I've discovered while looting Ancient Cities. Those are my tips. You'll be slow but you'll be safe and thorough.

Personal tips: 1) When you are in a City, the maximum of enchanted apples you can find is 4 and the minimum is 2, so be certain you have explored everything and mark all areas. 2) If a warden spawns, run until the darkness effect disappears and keep track of the warden so you can slowly escape his smell range. 3) Don't go in the refrigerator area, you will most likely summon a warden. 4) Don't go in the redstone area before you completly destroyed every shrieker, it's useless. 5) The central chest is just a place holder for the giant portal at the center, don't go there to find the loot but use it as a point to keep track of every area you visited. 6) There can be other areas between walls, keep track of every possible exit. 7) If some mobs managed to get into a city, leave immediatly and try to kill them with a bow. Remember to surround yourself with wool. 8) Be carefull when you find a walkable area, the holes in the floor can activate vibrations. 9) Don't mess with the warden and don't spam anything you can throw or it can locate you. 10) if you want to bring the warden home remember that his range attack goes to a maximum of 16 blocks so be carefull. 11) There are skulls in these cities, you might get some! I've explored 4 of these cities and it is the best expierence minecraft could've offer!

If possible, its recommendable to set sneak to toggle so it wouldnt be tiring enough holding the sneak button around the sculk areas

If you summon the Warden, I'd pillar up on wool immediately; it can't hear that. It'll take time to even try to start smelling for you and more time to actually decide to use sonic boom if it detects you. By that time you should be 20 blocks up or very close to it.

i ended up creating a wool network of paths above the city, if a warden spawns, i just start building up and get to the network. once you’re on the network you can run like hell and not set off anything, just don’t jump because falling on wool makes vibrations

I conquered an ancient city without dying once, I did summon the warden four times but tbh when you just pearl away and have about a stack of wool to put on the shriekers (if there are more around the one) and just delete the shriekers there isn't a lot of danger left. I accidentale activated shriekers on ceilings of buildings or just behind a 'cave wall' that was 1 block wide (and the city continues after that one block wide wall) I think I spent around 1,5 to 2 hours to conquer the entire thing. One thing I did notice (or my luck was just insane) is that I got 7 enchanted golden apples in the city, maybe those chances are a little bit too high

Breaking wool doesn't cause vibrations, so you can just use the wool from the ancient city without too much trouble.

I LOVE the new ancient cities because of how thrilling and rewarding it is WITHOUT you needing to prep. I went in with my friend and we had no armor and barely any materials. We just grabbed wool from the city walls

My ultimate guide to doing this safely You need: -Axe, diamond or netherite. Efficiency V would be great -Elytra -Several stacks of fireworks -A shulker of items like ender pearls and extra food and spare elytra for recovering items if you die -A shulker full of 8 min night vision potions, very useful -A shulker full of wool, just make a string duper to have infinite - 4 chests -Swift sneak III leggings if you have an want to raid more cities As soon as you get in fly to the op of the big portal, clear and skulk things like sensors and shriekers. Place a bed and set your respawn, place a double chest for putting your loot in after each flight. Chug a pot and look for a chest from the top of the portal, after you see one fly to it and break it and then fly away, if the warden spawns fly out back to the top of the portal, the warden will stay in calm mode and will burrow back into the ground after a minute or so. Repeat until you get every possible chest.

Question: I thought normal mobs weren’t supposed to spawn inside the cities? I went to my first city and it was FULL of mobs. Some kept setting off the alarms over and over. I play on Bedrock edition, btw. Thanks to any that have an answer.

Mobs will spawn in non-deep dark caves, so it's quite possible that they wandered in after spawning. Alternatively, maybe a world generation bug that made the city spawn partly in a regular cave?

I found four ancient cities combined together, so it's a massive city, and I found the seed in a KZbin video, and if you want if here it is Seed: 5974902417451286596 Only on Bedrock edition tho Coordinates: -168, -39, 104 Careful tho, I was luckily able to run before the warden woke up, multiple times.
