Nice tutorial, I will definitely be building this sometime on my survival world. Also, to improve the rates a little, you could replace the part of the roof covering the spawning platforms with glass that has water on top to make the top platforms surface spawns instead of cave spawns

Hello Tomco! I loved the video, but I have one question. If I place trapdoors on the underside of the spawning platforms, will it prevent skeleton and spider spawns? Also, I really love your channel! I have built so many of your contraptions. I even built your storage system for my channel's survival series!

Sorry that I didn’t reply mate, didn’t see the comment 😬. Anyway, it will prevent skeleton and zombie spawns but you would need to place carpet every other block on the floor to prevent spider spawns. Sorry that this is a bit late 😄😄

make it more efficient, put glass on top of the spawning spaces so when the mob spawns, it instantly gets pushed out, bedrock exclusive feature

It's literally a intended bedrock feature, so I think they aren't gonna remove it any time soon

Tomco Can you do a tutorial of the most realistic item frame elevator when your gonna fix it? Maybe you can have a item frame with a arrow in it and depending on which floor the arrow points and you press the button it should take you to that floor. Also make a separate button for the call.

alright if this farm isn’t working, here’s what to do. Move your afk platform so that there’s 24 blocks in between the first platform and your afk platform. the look away, for some reason it makes mobs spawn. hope this helps

Zombies do spawn in a cave it’s just a bug. In the 1.16.20.34 beta they fixed that bug.

Yeah you can do, but tbh that’s probably gonna get patched and if I were building a mob farm which would take a couple hours I would rather I build one which shouldn’t ever brake then one that could brake at any moment which is why I’ve done that 👍

I'm a abit bewildered. I've got this built above a birch forest, further back away from my friends town, it's above 200 at its lowest and reaches around 250, but the drop rates are awful even with messing with the render distance. It's on our realm, most of us are on Xbox, I'm on the series X. What I've noticed is they're still despawning randomly, especially as they're about to fall into the trap. The roof is 3 thick, leaves, blocks, leaves. Any idea of how to boost rates?

@@TomcoMC it on the friends realm, yeah. Sometimes it's me, sometimes one or two others are on. When I finished building it the other night, I was alone and I left to do some stuff and I came back to almond nothing. I appreciate your reply. 😊 I've torched below this, one of us torched some caves to be safe. My only other option is to try the water/glass combo but wouldn't that limit day spawns?

Hmm the facts that’s there’s almost nothing means there’s something wrong, Idk for sure what it is. Realms tend to be bad for when other people are on, are you afk’ing in the right place, maybe get a little closer 👍

@@TomcoMC I'm still messing about with where to sit. I've seen some people sit under the spawner, I've tried sitting closer etc. I'll figure something out. I've even tried wither roses to kill them too but that's quite slow tbh 😊
