I will proudly be building a Cortezerino Storage System in our multiplayer world. This is great!

I dig the design. It's compact, easy to follow, and relatively cheap as far as multi-item-sorters go. Good stuff! One note: You can replace the anti-lag composters with any full blocks now (glass works, or whatever other block you want), I wanna say that it was 1.19 when they updated hopper behavior for that. Possible upgrade for people: If you really want to keep things "unload safe" from running away, you can take the same lines from the redstone lamp indicators (take a repeater out of the block that the other repeaters point into) and send those to a chunk loader (or a few of them if your storage fits in a bigger than 3x3 chunk area). It should then keep the storage space loaded in while it works. You could also add a manual switch if you wanted, but since the signal is already being pulled for the lamps, tying that to the chunkloader isn't really any extra work.

It was in 1.20.5 where they made full blocks disable hoppers.

I was thinking about this too, a chunk loader is an an essential add in these type of systems IMO. Thinking that one could automate the flushing system as well. My first thought would be to have 2 pulse extenders, a long one that controls the chunk loader, and a second shorter one to trigger the flushing system. Probably need to do a flip flop so the flushing system doesn't trigger the flushing system, or use the detector rail to block a retrigger. A few ways to do it I suppose, I think I will have to play with this idea a bit.

Now to jerry rig it to accomodate smaller columns and two floors! EDIT: Got it all going except now that I'm testing the whole thing it stops sorting randomly. I don't have the heart to check the redstone again :/

Update: system has been working great. I changed the repeaters on the bottom to be 4 ticks rather than 3 ticks. This helps with clogging issues. I could not explain the redstone but sometimes the system would clog and stop working if there were too many items in the bottom dropper, changing the repeater to 4 ticks fixed this. This only really helps if you don't have the flushing system working due to the fact that I haven't sorted everything and there are still open modules.

@@CortezerinoThat's brilliant. Iron farm poppies are the closest thing to a waste product Minecraft has. You can't stop making them in large quantities and they don't compost efficiently enough to make a stand-alone bonemeal farm. Might as well siphon them off for sorter fillers/flushers.

I've spent the last year trying to get auto-sorters to work for my iron and guardian farms (on Xbox). But they ALWAYS break by pulling in the blocker blocks. It's incredibly tiresome. I now have a room full of chests for non farmed items. So I'm going to have to try this sorter out for that. But I'm not about to waste a lot of time building every row. I managed to get my Creative world converted back to a Survival one with achievements. Before zi did, I set it up to give myself structure, command, and bedrock blocks. Which means I can set it up so no one but me can get access to the redstone elements. It also means I can now use Structure blocks to copy the setup over with far less work! Or copy the entire system to a new base! I so badly hope this system works for Bedrock. Tired of my sorta breaking.

@@Cortezerino Although I'm a novice at redstone building, I built your sorta in my Xbox Bedrock world anyway. I was hoping my ignorance may stumble upon a crumb to solve the Bedrock issue. And it looks like I might have, by way of the comparators. Particularly the very first one. On my end, the comparators go into a endless loop without moving the items out of the 1st dropper. But flipping that one comparater around, allowed it to start moving the items to the next dropper. Flipping it again, moved it up one more dropper. However, this is where the chain stops, regardless how I rest the 1st comparator. This is where I'm hoping your redstone knowledge solves the issue. Somewhere along the first two columns of comparators seems to be clogging up the line. Maybe there are too many for Bedrock's needs? Or they might be too close to one another and causing the loop? I'm gonna send you a short clip, via X, so you can see what I see.

Built the whole thing in survival with great effort, just cannot get it to work reliably at all, lots of issues with it stopping leaving items all over the place, sometimes items not making it round the corner, if any of the redstone gets out of sync it goes out of control.
@Cortezerino
@Cortezerino Күн бұрын
You can try putting the repeaters on a 4 tick delay, that has solved issues for some people. Also if you leave the area while it's running it will break. You can also check to see if it breaks in the same spot all the time, you might have misplaced a piece of redstone. If a clock breaks, it'll break all the other clocks in front of it.

@williamludwick77
@williamludwick77 Ай бұрын
The reason for the copper bulbs vs redstone lamps is due to the state retention of the copper bulbs. Redstone lamps when powered by a pulse won't remain in that state (on or off) for more than a second (or a couple of ticks) after it loses the power signal. Much like if you were to use a button on the lamp. Copper bulbs however can retain the state (on or off) from a pulse until it receives another pulse. Similar to if you used a lever to power something - it stays on until you switch it off.

@@christianc.1632 I'd have to go back and look at his redstone again, but in general they do give off different light levels at the different stages (normal, exposed, weathered and oxidized). Yes, this does use less "Redstone" BUT this is much larger than gnembon's design, not the other way around. His stores items in chests and shulker that are in 1 block wide tile-able fashion while yours is 2 blocks. Making yours in the same footprint, store half the amount of items. I will add that yours does offer a place to store items in an item frame that do not cover most of the chest up, making it easier to access the chest and know what's in them, but item frames do add to lag, so if people can, use item player heads or even signs. If you're gonna use signs, may as well use gnembon's design for more storage space in the same footprint. Not hating on the design, it's just not as small as you say.
@Cortezerino
@Cortezerino Ай бұрын
The redstone for a slice of gnembon's is 1x10, mine is 2x4, so 2 blocks smaller. Also mine doesn't need the extra redstone that his has underneath to power the system. Having said that, his system is great.
@Unleashed75
@Unleashed75 Ай бұрын
@Cortezerino But you need twice the amount of room to store the same amount of chests, which is what I'm getting at. Besides, 1x10 is just 10 blocks per slice. 2x4 is 8 blocks per slice. Again, I'm not hating on your design but it's not half the size, it's closer to double the size when you are looking at storage space. It would be nice to see if you could make it 1 wide.
