Yeah, wood hoppers are slow and only have one inventory slot. They're just really cheap to make so they're easy to spam anywhere transfer speed isn't crucial. Hoppers work on the composter too but it's picky about sidedness and only accepts input from above. The hopper just needs to be above it and feeding down into it. Fair warning: It makes the same dirt sounds it does when you fill it by hand. For the heat generator try pouring a bucket of lava in a hole in the ground and placing the generator right above it. It accepts heat from the top and sides too, so the more sides of the generator you can safely get lava in contact with, the faster it generates power. You can also burn all the usual burnable materials in it, and when the generator's power buffer is full it'll turn any excess burnables fed to it into lava and store it in its internal tank for making power later. For whatever reason in this pack the Tech 1.0 tree is locked behind Blood Magic in particular from the Magicae tree. It opens up into the Create mod. Blackstone is a nether block and pretty common there. The Warped Forest biome is also a nether thing. AFAIK that's where the pack authors meant for you to get your first ender-related materials, and you can track down the nearest warped biome in the nether using a Nature's Compass. The stone/iron/diamond wands are builder's wands and not actually part of any spellcasting mod. Very useful for traversing the nether since you can build out bridges ahead of yourself with them. At this point though you can probably skip straight to the building gadget. It's basically a technological version of a building wand that uses power instead of wearing out, and you can charge it up in the Mekanism heat generator.
