@@backup153 If I recall correctly they do damage to entities (player, mobs,...) but not to blocks. The thing that blocks damage is having a block in between the explosion and the player (which will reduce the damage to 1/2 heart). Unless they changed it. Someone double-check these things though. Edit: changed "1 heart" to "1/2 heart"

I love the idea of adding this in, I think it would be a good idea to make it an optional feature. Now this may sound weird, but if someone decides to make a huge redstone build that uses water. It would be a disaster for high power farms. But I'm not saying this would be a bad feature, quite the opposite this would be amazing! (Even if it may be a small detail)

Client-side means it only shows on the client, you, and therefor can be used on any server, however if a mod is not client-side, but requires to be on server side, it would require the server to install the mod, making it next to impossible to use it on servers that does not have it installed.

Heres an idea for a mod : all mob ai is randomized. so whenever something spawns, the game selects a random ai from the pool of ais, and assigns it to the entity. Ive always wanted to see that but didnt know how to make it myself. ok what is happening in the comments section

It took Mojang, a Company that has hundreds of staff, almost whole year to add one half of an update(The nether update was release on June 23 the First part of the Caves and Cliffs update was released on June 6th). Mojang doesn't really put much work into Minecraft, unlike Modders.

They had already gotten a far way through making the caves before they decided the split the update, and they also made the whole new mountains biome gen which was scrapped in favour of the Base overworld gen being changed instead. And bruh like many of the devs are literally modders before they worked at Mojang.

Minecraft is built so good that adding/removing many big or small changes does not require much of an effort or redesign of the structure of the game whatsoever. Loose coupling in game compartments is what allows us to do it and it is a great example of quality software engineering

I'm impressed, very well done and epic, it gives more life to the water, but you have to take into account that the texture in the trailer was made to resemble Bare Bones (or the texture pack used in the trailer), how about making the texture more like Vanilla water? But it still looks epic :D

In reality? The grain of sand would compress the air in front to incredibly high pressures. That would increase the heat of the air to temperature where nuclear fusion is possible. The affect would be similar to detonating a decent sized nuclear bomb. Long story short, the grain of sand would never hit the water because both it, the water, and several football fields of land around it, would be vaporized instantaneously.

@Jack I love how this started as a guy probably making a GrayStillPlays reference and had a guy respond with an interesting explanation, and then the thread just went to hell because someone decided to get offended for no reason for attention. He wasn't being arrogant, he was explaining what would happen, you're just hungry for attention and you realized like many other people did that the best way to get attention is to get upset and mad. The texture seems more fitting for the trailer texture pack, and as such, I suggest adding another texture that is more inline with the default texture. Pretty good still.

*Ok, now imagine this -* Mods that introduce different liquid types combined with this mod. They even change the effects of the splash depending on the thickness of the liquid. E.g. Oil would have lake a small splash almost always and it would just barely come out of the liquid. Also, the colour changes with it. Finally, if the liquid has an effect on the player, the splash would also effect the player too. E.g. Acid would splash and the raining down particles would damage the player by a hitpoint for every second it rains on them. Come on, someone please make this a thing. I wanna see the DIVERSE LIQUID MECHANICS mod become a thing. (And maybe credit me for idea pls?)
