You can also just cure the villager 2-3 times, then look for the trade, it works the same without you having to pay the price of the first one.

I would recommend doing the same build, but use two different villager professions. Granted this method requires a few more zombification cycles but I promise it’s worth it. By using librarians for the glass trade and cartographers for the glass pane trade, you can multiply your emeralds and a much faster rate than the books and bookshelves strategy

If your enough in your world, listen closely. Your probably thinking of making 10+ of these stations and that’s fine just make sure each one is a cartographer. Mass producing glass at that level should be no problem and the panes are even more so you don’t need librarians just cartographers to buy all your panes.

A much more productive method is to simply plant a ton of trees and harvest them for sticks to trade with fletchers for emeralds. It doesn't require a brewing stand or zombie, so perfect for early game, though you can add them later.

You could also make a bamboo farm to make sticks, but yes it requires a minecart and hopper, no problem if you have a golem farm

​@@eozineableChances are if you are using a villager farm for emeralds, you'd also have an "iron farm" so long as there are 20 villagers, beds, and work stations, so minecarts and hoppers would no longer be an issue. Still though, I would not bother with using villagers for getting emeralds. The amount of time required to manually collect enough wood, breed villagers etc vs how many emeralds you get isnt worth it. Even if you were to automate the bamboo, items needed would pretty much be as "complex" as the items needed for a raid farm. Emerald / raid farms these days are so much safer and easier to make, and compared to trading, the amount of emeralds you'd get is stupidly higher than trading. Like 20 times greater

even more productive is running sugar cane and kelp Kelp can me farmed like stupid easy and at high rates and quickly for bone meal (early on) but it wont keep up with growth and end game kind of rates

To add to how many emeralds you get, you can even add some cartographers, since the librarian sells glass, and then the cartographer buy glass panes, and with them both zombified, you can get alot of emeralds of that aswell!

3:26 i highly recommend you trade with that villager at least once, as it would permanently lock his trades, even when he is repeatedly turned into, and converted from, a zombie, and also when the lectern is repeatedly destroyed. one paper to one emerald trades are god-tier

I had issues with the villager not restocking his trades. I believe it was because he was in a constant state of panic, as he was standing in the same place inside his booth, and he was standing too close to one side of the booth (and also not restocking lol) . I fixed this by extending the zombie "chamber" back by 1 block, so the zombie could walk back periodically, allowing the villager to restock while the zombie wasn't in his line of sight. Hope this helps someone, as i couldn't find anyone on the internet talking about this issue.

Yeah, now the prices of trades only go down once after curing and never again no matter how many times you cure the villager unfortunately. Something else you can do tho, is build a glitch string farm, then get a fisherman villager that trades string for emerald. You should be able to get a lot of emerald considering that the glitch string farm produces about 30000 strings per hour. Hope this helps

I hope you read this before you build this. It doesn’t work anymore. Villagers will only account for one infect. Doing it multiple times is a waste of your time, potions and gapples. You could still do it if you infect it and then complete a raid.

TLDR: Make a raid farm instead --- All things considered, this is definitely a huge waste of time for very LITTLE emeralds. With the effort of getting to the Nether, finding and killing Blaze just to get Weakness potion, or even spam resetting a Fletcher for arrow of weakness, Librarian for piercing and then collecting enough gold and apples, it is WAY more beneficial to make even a basic non-optimized raid farm. Ideally take the time to make a good one, like SilentWhisperers latest one.

all things considered? it's dependent on many factors. lmao you're either obtuse beyond belief or just lying. it helps tremendously early game. you can trade with a couple librarians like this to help upgrade your tools in small, but meaningful ways. not to mention it also gives you a ton of xp while doing this. how do i know? i'm doing this right now in an smp server. what is your weird comment that's written off as an ultimatum? you act like finding a fortress and killing blaze as some tough thing to do but think finding an outpost isn't? both can be true. in my experience, the biggest reason why a lot of players shy away from building raid farms is because it breaks the game. it sucks out all the fun of the game. it's much too op. it sounds like you didn't consider everything, after all. also, playing a game isn't always about efficiency. it's not always about saving time. it's about having fun.

My advice is to build an iron farm with chunkloader (sounds like more work than it is), then breeding a lot of weaponsmiths and toolsmiths and trading iron with them.

If you trade with him the trades will be locked in. This means that he will never change his trades. You need to use a fresh villager that hasnt been traded with before to change the trades.
