I made this and only had 2 villagers, so I put them in the bottom layer and 20 min later or something I had 3 baby villagers and another just spawned. Don't think I even need the other 2 layers haha. Thanks :)

IF YOU ARE ON BEDROCK-- The villager collection system WILL NOT WORK. However, breeding is still active, you will just need to escort them out by rail one by one, leaving a couple to restart the cycle. I placed double beds on both sides with the non-working collection system and have produced 20+ within an hour.

I just finished building this underground, and can confirm that it does indeed work. I just had to add a few extra torches, and another modification I made was to add fences around the composters at head height only so that the villagers would stop composting the carrots, but still collected them and could "access" their workstation. Also, I am on java just in case anyone is wondering.

Hey id like to elaborate on your design because it only has one flaw and that's getting the villagers out. So basically you wanna dig out one of your corners in the box where the villagers go It doesn't matter, and in side the box you wanna dig one more down and leave the opposite corner one block higher than the rest of the box and put a water source block. This will funnel all the villagers into one corner. Then build tracks in the corner you dug out and it should pull one villager out through the walls.

guys if you are on java 1.20.6 and if the villagers pop up "angry" particles after the love hearts its simply because of the villagers apparently need 3 blocks tall for them to be happy and keep breeding. we need a new design. :D

@@HighriseCS this is actually not the case for this breeder, since the farmland blocks and grass don't affect them. MAKE SURE TO PULL THE LEVER when using the farm.

it works perfectly fine for me and gives me a ton of villagers in a matter of minutes. you just simply built it wrong. also beds have a bed 2 blocks above them but since its a bed and not a block that is which villagers can claim it, because there is a distance of 2.5 blocks between each bed vertically. you are wrong about needing 3 blocks of height, you can literally search it up, it shows 2 or more blocks. btw im in java so maybe that is why its working for me and not for you (presuming you are a bedrock player)

In the BEDROCK version, the villagers can't reach the collector, I made some changes and it worked... pull all the beds one block back, pull two blocks to each side of the "collection pipe", put a glass in front of each bed so the villagers don't sleep and place trapdoors on all floors in the same way as in the video, now just arrange the water flow your way, I did it with compacted ice and plates, god about 6 villagers in 15 minutes. WORKS like a charm on Minecraft Java 1.20.4 (although I only did the first layer). So, do we really need redstones to build this farm? Yeah. I scrolled down comments and found a plausible answer by "chiller99" about the Minecraft logic between that lever + those pistons and the mating of villagers: "The pistons block the beds when extended which makes the villagers think there are no beds nearby which then turns the farm off by stopping breeding." Now, the real question: how to get those new villagers out neatly.

Damn you are very underrated, so easy to build and requires very cheap resources, and to top on that it is easily expandable. All you need to do to make this the best villager breeder is to enhance the villager pickup system. You can copy LogicalGeekyBoy's villager breeder adult filtering and pick up system and then you have an excellent breeder.

In some servers (in my case 2b2t) because the way the chunks load you might find into a situation in which the villagers can reach the bed. That happens if the glass walls are at the chunk border. Making a full row of ceiling trapdoors instead of a single one seemed to fix the issue to me. Also, if the villagers keep losing their job (again, in my server that is happening) you can use sticky pistons to move the composters back and forward every night using the same system to turn on/off the breeder, but instead of having it enabled by a lever, use a sun detector.

was happening on my singleplayer world. I have a crappy PC and therefor usually play on 2 render distance when in my base that contains over 300 tile entities. The breeder would get deloaded and the villagers could clip into the beds. Thanks so much for the tip!

I'm a little late to the party. But you could put 2 trap doors and place the beds on block away than in the video. Kind of like the old breeder farm. But they eventually find their way

Thank you so much! I'm from Brazil. This breeder exceeded my expectations, it definitely worth it! In little time a lot of villagers were generated. The only change I made and I recommend everyone doing it is make a water current to take the baby villagers far from the breeder, I think it increased the efficiency of it, because when there is a lot of villagers near to the breeder, they "stop" reproducing.

I found a fix to make it work in 1.20, remove one of the composters per level. They should breed normally. Edit: i fucked up, theres nothing to fix. You really just have to wait for the farmers to get their inventories full for it to work really well. If you want to try and test if all layers work, first turn off the farm for a few days to let the farmers keep harvesting and collecting food without breeding and then just turn it on. Youll probably see all holes working at once.

Only issue I noticed is when the villagers walk over the stairs they sometimes get knocked up into the air a bit after jumping, and they land on the farmland turning it into regular dirt. Otherwise a great tutorial

As the other comment said it’s an on off switch blocks the beds so the villagers can’t path to them which prevents them from breeding mobs don’t see trap doors so when the pistons are not there they think they can get to the beds and will breed

on version 1.21.4 everything works fine, I built 3 floors and in 20 minutes of afk I got 13 residents, though it is worth considering that you should be at least 8 blocks away from the farm, and better yet further (about 12) and that at night and when it rains residents do not reproduce

When the villager breeds, angry particles appear even though the piston system is off, the angry particles make villager not produce any babies. There is a fix for my problem? I play in java 1.21.4, i built the farm in ocean

I have a little problem, I'm playing in superflat and don't have access to sand (for glass). I do however, have slime blocks and fences would these be good replacements? What are some other alternatives?

Villagers need to be happy to breed and need to know think they have access to beds make sure your beds are faced the same way as they are in the video and the pistons aren’t blocking their access to them if all that is good trade with them to boost there satsisfaction and if none of that works not sure what to tell you

Really cool video but i'm running into some issues. For some reason the villagers inside the farm sometimes end up being on the beds, other times the baby villagers are on the beds as well instead of falling down the pit. checked multiple times if i did everything correctly and even rebuild the entire thing twice

I've found out the issue with my villagers getting in the beds is because of over-population. they were glitching eachother into the block by pushing to get to the beds so some were able to get in them through the wall. i suppose the safest number is 2 per module.

The pistons block the path to beds. Villagers who don't have a path to beds can't breed. When the farm is activated (Light on), this means the pistons are disabled and they can breed. If the farm is deactivated (light off) the pistons are activated and are blocking the path.

yes they do, when the piston is on it blocks the trapdoor making villagers understand there aren't any beds (without beds they won't breed)

when you turn the farm off the pistons push out making the villagers not able to see the beds so therefore the farm cannot activate, hope this helps

I've followed the guide and they fall down perfectly, have 38 + 10 villagers atm, two floors of the breeder. Works amazingly. Never had the issue of villagers entering the bed area either like some reported on. The pistons and Lever is to turn the breeding on/off. When the lava lamp is turned on the breeder is on. Your error might be because of the trap doors not placed correctly and the redstone being wrong along with that.
