Minecraft PSX Documentation [3] - 03-01-24

I continue my journey into the unknown...
"Minecraft Playstation Edition" is a game developed by Mojang Studios in the Year 1998 in a partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment for the Playstation Console released in 1994, this game was a pre-cursor to the classic 'Minecraft' of 2009, although not many people are aware of it due to it being pulled from store shelves just a year after release with only a 1000 or so copies ever being sold, I was lucky enough to stumble upon a copy at a retro game store about a month ago, here's my experience with the title.

Yes, I think this is where disc 11 originally came from the running footsteps the walking on cobblestone the running on grass the whispering the breathing

That whispering at the end…what the fuck? Between that and the jumpscare, this version of the game is clearly just a straight up horror game. Maybe that’s why its existence has been purged…? Doesn’t exactly fit the whole family friendly vibe of the modern game. At least I hope that’s all there is to it 😬 Also, I wonder what the significance of the date 09/26/1977 is. Maybe a birthday of someone involved in development or something. Anyway, awesome upload even without commentary. I hope you’re sleeping better.

so i went into the game files of this game after downloading the rom, and there was an unused trash slot in the inventory eventually re logic added it to their game called terraria some time after its release in may 2011 might find more unused content when i delve deeper in the files

I was doing the same thing and discovered unused recipes for conveyor belts and inserters, which now-independant Wube Software would later use as the foundation for their resource gathering and automation game Factorio

OK I’m gonna have to be completely honest I think the jump scare was just a little bit too much, just almost too obvious in a way, but overall, this series is really good so far

It’s called a ARG, the thing he’s playing is actually a modpack on curseforge called MCSX, he’s just pretending it’s ps1 version and adds some of his own stuff to make it more immersive and interesting
