I don't think you can place a boat in a block you're in, and you can't place a minecart unless it's on rails....that being said, all the other options would work.

One of the reasons I'm actually glad (for other players, that is) that I've never been able to actually get a server up and running, is because I would be that one a**hole admin who sets up this exact trap, but then adds a command block that sets it as the victim's respawn point.

Note: if you worried about people using chorus, just fill up the entire block for chorus to teleport with doors

When the redstone clock stops.... You can escape. You should use a 4 tick repeater so the output of the clock is always on, and When iT stops iT instantly continues

It’s a real shame that this doesn’t work anymore. With the update of the hoe becoming a breaking tool, sponge AND hay don’t work anymore. It’s a shame, this was truly despicable.

With a netherite efficiency 5 pickax you can mine out the floor. I think if you make the floor obsidian, and the walls netherite, then it's truly impossible.

@@something2b445 Once you place the water or the lava, it will get destroyed by being pushed, and its impossible to place the 2 before the piston pushes it (it's mechanically impossible even with a bot due to the game's update system)

You know if you're on a multiplayer server where nether portals are disabled, you can fill a box with the portal blocks, set the players in game mode 2, and they won't be able to open their inventory or even disconnect. The only way for them to escape by themselves is with something like Alt F4.

Although this has great potential, technically just using obsidian would be just as good or better as it takes 0.75 seconds to break hay with anything, 0.9 seconds to break sponge/wet sponge with anything, and 2.55 seconds to break obsidian with an efficiency V pickaxe and even MORE time with anything else. I am aware that this doesn't do much as the blocks are moving but at least it would be more secure.

This is genius! No trap is fool proof tho. They can kill themselves with lava, suffocate themselves with water, go to creative, possibly go to spectator mode, and as you said, have a friend bail you out. NO trap is fool proof :P

i had a problem getting the trip-wire to trip when i fell through. instead i placed a stone pressure plate on the sponge you fall on and redstone under it. i then lead the redstone up to the two inputs the trip-wire was suppose to activate. it seems to work just as well it just bakes the pressure plate when it starts going.

Grant Wooster No. You would be blocking it cuz when pistons start pushing you are practicaly only in 1x1x2 space and you cant place blocks when an entity (you in this case) is blocking it.

You can escape by placing carpet until the bottom piston doesn't work glitching through the floor and then placing an iron trapdoor above you. edit: Just using an iron trapdoor on the top block works to.
