Thank you! I used to watch your guides a while ago when I played SF4. Currently I've gotten back into modded Minecraft and am playing the Dungeons, Dragons and Space Shuttles modpack. And these are still extremely helpful for it. Even though the recipes are different, the mechanics of the mods are the same, so these guides really help. ^^

Love your short guides Draven! I'd really like a guide to base building, particularly growing ones base as they progress- I generally start off great but as I progress, things become more and more crowded, complex and this tends to snowball. . . *sigh*

Hii this post is ancient but I feel like commenting to give whoever sees this some advice! I make branching paths that start from hub points. Along these paths are 'rooms' of sorts for my stuff. Along one of these paths is the room for the portals and what not. Keep things that are going to be integral very close to your spawn point! Things that you frequent! I keep my smelter within arms reach for example. I also prioritize keeping my base organized. Keep things that belong together.. together! For example. One path leads to an agricultural section. I have a tower of crops, and a row of animals. This keeps me from needing to hunt for any of them because I know exactly where they should be! Also, Keep these paths you make OPEN at all times! Do not close one off! Open paths mean room to expand. ALWAYS leave room to expand. You can also plan ahead in some form or fashion, if youre a little freak like me youll have a whole fucking graph but im going to assume youre like, normal.

i have a question since im kinda new to this, is the energy battery required? does GPS Markering the energy node directly to the machinery work? or is the distribution of the energy more efficient if placed into a battery connected to the machinery
@OnlydravenGaming
@OnlydravenGaming 2 жыл бұрын
Very often the batteries will make more power than is being used. The batteries are to power your things while it is night time. The solar only works during the day so the batteries charge up all day to work at night. Yes, you can GPS directly to most machines. The only reason I usually don't is cause that will take a lot more GPS and wireless nodes only have so many slots. That would make you need a lot more nodes as well.

@@OnlydravenGaming thank you, sry for late response I was watching your vids on "writing table" and going to other worlds (good god I'd kill for actual land again, lol). I automate pretty much anything I can (although mods are entirely new to me) and power consumption became an issue hence I started just using generators for everything (many machines have their own generators or small clumps use a centralized generator) and I'm guessing that adds to my lag (well that and having a ton of active devices) 😅

Because the extraction cable can just take from one at a time, so you would have to make more extraction cables which would still use space and waste materials

Sometimes in your videos you show the solar farm at night. Does this mean that the solar panels work at night too?
@OnlydravenGaming

They do not. That's why I recommend connecting them to batteries instead of connecting them directly to your machines because the battery will store power and help you have power throughout the night.

I've got a question. I've built a solar farm and it's pretty large. Around 20 Solar Panels. However, that is BARELY enough to give my PRC minimum power to run. The battery doesn't even charge. Why is this the case? You had 4 solar panels and 1 battery and it powered 3 things, and I have 20 solar panels and 1 battery and it BARELY powers the PRC. Any idea why this is?
@OnlydravenGaming
@OnlydravenGaming 3 жыл бұрын
You can take multiples of that battery and place them in a crafting table, combining them into one. Each one increases the amount of power the batter can store, up into the 100 millions. :)
@jaykeblakk
@jaykeblakk 3 жыл бұрын
@@OnlydravenGaming The issue isn't how much it can store. In fact, I have the whole thing set up to power the one battery, and all of the energy inside is being drawn away by the PRC entirely. The battery can't even charge. The energy is taken immediately and the battery can't charge at all.
@OnlydravenGaming
@OnlydravenGaming 3 жыл бұрын
The larger battery will let it build up between uses which will help some. Are you using energy extraction cables to get the power from the solar? Did you click on them and turn their transfer capabilities to max?
@jaykeblakk
@jaykeblakk 3 жыл бұрын
@@OnlydravenGaming I did, but each solar panel is producing like 20 units of power each. The battery receives like 500 because of the 20 individual solar panels, and then the PRC pulls it from the battery and immediately uses it. When I watched your video, the 3 things are powered by one battery AND that battery charged. It's the polar opposite of what I get.
