People are very confused how the material tiering works. Upgrading the material increases the damage and weapon durability. Only Gold os the weapons that are as strong as wood/stone, but as a tradeoff has faster frame data. WEAPON UPGRADE IS NOT A CUT ON FRAME DATA! ONLY THE GOLD HAS THE FASTER ATTACKS

There is 1 of 2 outcomes that come out of Steve's move set. 1. He ends up actually not having enough ways to defend himself other than blocks, which break relatively quickly meaning he cant do anything about you rushing him putting him in about a to b tear 2. I'm not good at smash by any means, and i haven't started the video yet so idk if hbox says this - but i feel like fighting minecraft steve will really be a war of attrition. Steve becomes SIGNIFIGANTLY worse without materials. He can't build, upgrade his tools, down throw, drop an anvil down, like if you can make it where steve is scared to harvest material, and then play in a way where he uses blocks and upgrades and such and then eventually runs out, that's how you can truly counter him i believe

Yeah, still not sure why people are so worried about the glide when it has a built in limited duration along with making it to where you can no longer place blocks after using it. I legit think this character will shut down sonic and anyone with a strong grounded neutral. The whole minecart and tnt pressure plate mechanic is gonna force sonic players to stay in the air to get in and Steve can capitalize off that with his strong fair and back air. I guess the only way to beat him is play rush down or camp him with projectiles harder than sonic does with everyone. And that’s not even including the block place mechanic. That’ll literally prevent half the cast from recovering and we don’t even know if you can grab ledge with this blocking it or how strong attacks need to be to break blocks in order to get past them. Probably go into the matchup with a wall jump character and save ur jump at all costs.

Ok, let me get this... 8 block limit, no ledge on blocks, very good for using grounded moves in the air, super fast grab with minecart, pretty good grab and throws with fishing rod, plenty of power even in wood tools, VERY fast attacks, making them completely impossible to react to, amazing down tilt, insane gliding, super powerful tnt setups, portable crafting, unbelievably useful stall and fall that can be cancelled, and could be medium or heavy weight. Something no one is really talking about is the fact that this is the first character that won’t be play-tested as much as the previous ones due to the virus. Sakurai said it himself that they just got closed online matches working at the time of the video. They also went from offline play-testing to online play-testing which is sure to effect the final build.
