One of the main reason's I think that Minecraft is successful is because it's easy. You can just log on and start placing blocks to make anything your heart desires. No need to worry about physics (lego) and any previous knowledge of coding and modeling (Roblox and 3D programs)

That was originally the plan, but having a premier is actually a cool thing for a filmmaker. It's not like we're taking this to Sundance. If we did that, most people wouldn't get to see it for months still. Besides, Minecraft fans paid for this movie to be made via our Kickstarter, they get it before anyone else. We're treating the Xbox as our theater; the unfortunate fact of a theatrical premier is that not everyone gets to go.

That's the beauty of it really, there are no rules, no boundaries, you can do almost anything. And it's not just a building game, there are much more aspects to it like for example, user-made adventure maps for those who want to play mostly to achieve a certain -goal-. But in the end, it's just all about having fun.

There's a special, one-time screening on Xbox Live this Saturday and then the film is available for purchase on DVD or as a digital download/stream on Sunday.
