Congratulations on your graduation. I got the elite strap with battery and case for $129 from oculus, as it cost way more on Amazon. It really helped me with seeing the display at the optimal angle.

I got a strap from amazon for about 30 bucks and just my existing battery bank for more power.

shouldve got the halo strap for 30, much cheaper, stable, and comfy, and you can flip the headset up and down without taking it off, so you dont have to adjust every single time, and you could get a cheaper power bank, and a case that fits the headset better

Been in the Air Force for 4 years now, always loved your content and it made me chuckle to see you join the Air Force as well. Considering you're one of the reasons I now own a Quest 2 actually lol. If you need anything or have questions about your career field or what life will be like once you get to a real base outside of tech school, I would be willing to help answer anything I can. Glad to see you made it through BMT, I wish you all the luck in your career

Heya Twice! I appreciate your storytelling and advice about VR, you were one of the first channels that got me inspired to get a headset so thanks for this. I've had a quest 2 for a couple weeks now and thought this would be good chance to repay the favour. So here's some tips. 1) Don't bother with the elite strap, it's quite expensive and a lot of people have had issues with it breaking. A much better bang for your buck would be to get the Bobo VR M2 Pro. It comes with a 5300 mah magnetic external battery and I think the company has plans to release the battery standalone so you can always stay charged up without being next to an outlet ha. 2) Replace the facial interface with one from VR Cover. I can recommend the VR Cover Fitness one, it has holes to make it more breathable and two easy to clean leather covers. I've found the thinner one allows your eyes to get closer to the screen so slightly remedies the FOV a lil bit. 3) I found the wristbands that come with the oculus to not be great after a while and like being able to not always grip the controllers to hold them. The KIWI design knuckle grips are what I've been using and super comfortable if you really want an adjustable fit. 4) A decent case, get one that fits your headstrap, if you end up getting the Bobo VR M2 Pro Headstrap, the EYGLO and C2 Carry case should work. 5) I realise all the tips above included spending some money. But here's one you can do right away if you have a laptop and a usb c cable. Make yourself a developer on your Oculus account and download SideQuest. Here you'll be able to access experimental features like 120hz refresh rate, air link, bringing bits of your apartment into VR and via sidequest increasing the resolution, graphical capabilities, installing pre launch apps, mods, android apps and much more. Here's a video on how to do it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZO3iKalg8Skrac&ab_channel=GetHip Hope any of this helps!

Honestly, just discovered you recently, but already glad to know you are back. Also, loving my own quest 2 and I pair it with FBT myself in VRC! Love the content so far and I wish you the best in your future endeavors! I may not be, but much of my family and extended family is spread throughout the military branches, and I respect all of you who do what you do. Also, I see that picture of the good ol Strip, recognize that coaster anywhere haha!

I recommend not getting the elite strap but instead a 3rd party strap, the elite strap is known to break after a few months
@PashaGamingYT3 жыл бұрын
I can second this, it breaks so often. The quality is terrible, especially considering it costs double what most third party straps cost
@eliornagar74233 жыл бұрын
I'v gotten both, I currently own a halo strap and an elite strap. though, I cant sell my elite strap cause its practically worthless used.
@Purely_Andy3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I haven't experienced it snapping, but the gear used for tightening it tends to slip, causing the strap to be off-center. It's a massive pain to get it to slip back into the right position.

can confirm mine broke in a month or two and i have had a 3rd party strap for over half a year and its still doing great

Welcome back to civilian life Twice!! Just a little heads up on accessories, Oculus head straps are infamous for being the worst in quality control. There has also been issues with a "small percentage" of people experiencing discomfort when using the Quest 2 *without* the silicone cover, as it could cause a nasty allergic reaction. Other VR enthusiasts would recommend getting face covers from VR Cover, headstraps from other companies like KIWI design, which is what I use, controller grips can be purchased from the companies I mentioned earlier. The battery issue could be solved with using Rebuff Reality battery bank that straps onto the headset's straps, though your milage could vary depending on what headstrap you use. You could also use the mentioned link cable in the video, what they don't tell you is that the link cable Oculus provides is overpriced, just get a 15ft-20ft USB 3 Cable that supports high bandwidth. TL;DR, replace the accessories asap, but not with the oculus branded accessories.

you're back :) Im the green bird from the thrillseekerxphia holiday party. Quest 2 is pretty good, pretty cool that you have that now. edit: about facebook leading this metaverse thing, Im not too scared. Because as soon as some other company make something better and with a good price. Everyone will switch to this company, there is no "facebook fanboy" no one actually likes facebook. People that already own a quest 2 will not change immediately, but eventually you will have to replace your headset, right?

Yo nice that youre back! Even though I just found your channel, I love your content! Idea for a video: VRC Roleplay groups I got into a VRChat Military roleplay community some time ago, and since I assume this topic is a bit underrated, I would be VERY happy to see a video about it. It is underestimated how much passion and time people spend on there, and it is an amazing feeling to join such a group, make friends, and achieve goals as a team. (If you want, I can have talks with the people there, and I bet we would be happy to have you record some stuff if you want, cuz we got LOTS of stuff)

I highly recommend installing sidequest and setting the texture resolution to 2048. There aren’t any performance issues I’ve experienced and I wouldn’t set it any higher but it makes all your games look better. Only caveat is that you have to reenable it in sidequest every time the headset reboots so I just keep it asleep. It’s the best PCVR headset for what it is imo.

A lot of people are worried about the idea of Facebook being the gateway into VR, but I think what a lot of people don't remember is that AOL was the gateway for a lot of people into the internet. Similarly, it was a very watered-down experience compared to a broader internet experience, but it did exactly what it was supposed to do, which was get people on the path.
