It's kinda weird to think that I actually do have a VR now. For 5 years, I saved up money for a good PC from multiple part time jobs, all the while having this interest in VR that I couldn't act on because I just didn't have enough money at the time. 3 months ago, though, I finally managed to buy one and I've been enjoying it ever since. It's a quest 2 and I do wish I was capable of affording more, but like it's been a hell of a good time getting to know people in VRChat (when I'm able to talk-) and actually getting decent at Beat Saber.

It's actually very interesting to see what people go through to actually get into the VR craze. I remember myself when I had actually worked a part-time job at a construction site just to get a Valve Index. Yeah, I never got enough for it, and I'm sort of glad I actually didn't. I never realized that, I actually didn't have room in my apartment for an Index Setup. But, instead, fortunately, the Quest 2 was released sometime later, but through a retailer since my country didn't get shipping from Oculus. So, I got it, and it honestly feels so much better to play on, through Remote Desktop, as I wasn't hooked up to any wires and I didn't need to break my head over the base stations. Well. Either way. Although I only joined in watching this channel recently, I can really say that you're putting a lot of effort into them. And the result always ends up being great. Keep up the good work!

You've got a nice little channel here man. Glad I clicked on that reccomended video. I'm glad you were so impressed when you first tried VR. I did something similar trying it out in a shop, but I was massively disapointed by it. The early headsets resolution and screen door effect were SO bad. So I avoided it, and decided to wait until the technology improved, and I just got VR about 2 months ago. For me, it was that I was saving up for a specific car for years, but after the last year, prices on that car nearly doubled. At the same time, my old GPU decided to litterally go up in smoke. I said screw it, I managed to find myself a pre-build PC with a RTX 3090 in it. Ripped that pre-build apart. Combined it with a few new parts, and reusing some old parts, I built myself the dream PC, along with a HP Reverb G2. Absolutely love it and I am completely addicted to VR now :P

I remember I first watched a video that got me into VR, it was a DanTDM video and he was playing Minecraft vr, I thought it was amazing since I think I was 7-8 at the time. From that point I fell in love with vr, always checking in on what vr is doing every now and again, but I had never tried it for myself because it was too expensive and no one had in my friend group. That is until my best friend got a PSVR, I remember loading up job simulator and being in awe of how great this feeling was, after that I felt like I needed vr more then ever, but again I didn’t have any money cause I was in middle school. Then my friend told me about the first oculus quest, and said that he had one, I rushed over to his house and played the shit out beatsaber cause that was the only game he had. He said it was only $400 for one, I was super surprised since up until that point you needed a pc and $700 more dollars for any pcvr. I started saving up money but again I was in middle school so I didn’t have a job and my parents didn’t pay me for chores so I again gave up on the idea of getting one. Until one year later when oculus came out with the quest 2 at only $300 bucks, and with the fact that I was getting $300 bucks from my family for my 15th birthday, that meant I could finally get my hands on one, and so that’s what I did, I ordered and one week later it showed up. I was so excited that I literally waited outside of my house for the delivery man. Lucky for me I had also saved up a couple hundred bucks so I could buy a couple of games. I’ve now had VR for almost a year and have never regretted buying it, until recently when I found out that oculus was selling the 128gb version for $300 bucks. But other then that I am very grateful that I have my own vr and that I now have a part in vr.

I want to get a job so that i can buy a headset but unfortunately i live too far away from anything to walk or ride a bike to, to get a job. I dont have an allowance or get paid for chores so i have no current way to get money. I have been trying to find a job, or ANY source of income online, but i havent had anything that i could live up to. Ive struggled my entire life with finding a passion so i cant just put that into a job. One day i might get VR, probably not but for now ill watch your videos and imagine what could be. TLDR; Me want VR, Cant get job, Cant get VR EDIT: Also sorry for the mini rant/vent

Hey Twice, first great video as always, It was super interesting watching your story up until this point! Also I am so sorry about that trip to Japan, that is definitely a dream destination for me and to have Covid hit back then ruined a lot of things. Watching this, I think I am around the same age as you and when COVID hit everything has just gone downhill. I thank you for sharing this because it shows there's others out there (around my age) that had bad experiences as well with such potential memories wasted and forgotten (especially towards the end of high school). I relate to you being how hard it was experiencing losing so much hard work that was going to pay off. Regardless, congrats on all the accomplishments you made! I'm looking to eventually get a VR headset in the future (you were one of the inspirations), when I can get my PC built. Thanks again for sharing this, and hope the future holds better days!

I never thought I would be able to afford a computer & VR... I wanted a PC from the get go when I learned about them but never had enough money... I prayed for one and my prayers were answered a year ago! Still enjoying it to this day...

I had a senior trip to Israel in 2020, and i got an email like a month before we left for it just like the one you got. It broke my heart reading that, just cuz i felt the same pain that you did.

this makes me realise how lucky I was when I was eleven my mum just bought me a psvr because I wanted one and last year I got a quest 2 for Christmas, neither of those I had to work for myself, I’m not overly spoiled or anything I work for what I get but I do sometimes get spoiled as well and I need to remember not everyone has that luxury

This makes me not want to give up, to work, and be patient, etc. I'll be able to get the things I desire over time with patience and if I push myself!

I know how you feel so much!! I graduated in 2020 but in collage i applied for a korean exchange program for freshman and got accepted into it only to be told that it wouldn't be a good place for what i wanted because of covid and wouldn't be able to spend the semester on the korea campus. Broke my heart and still salty about it a year later. Hoping to travel more after i graduate or in my last year.
