I don't know if people get swatted all the time in the US, but one time when I was a little kid it turned out this guy who rented my grandfather's old house from my parents (who btw was basically the perfect renter, paid in cash, he always paid on time kept the place clean, if he needed an extension on his rent he'd let us know in advance) was a major leader in like a drug trafficking ring and the police did a raid on the home and basically destroyed the entire place and wouldn't pay for the damages from basically busting through the door and busting holes in our walls and stuff looking for drugs that weren't there, and the guy came peacefully, but they still completely destroyed the place.
