Got my Nox 800 delivered yeseterday ,an early Christmas/Birthday present :) ive not been out with it yet but got couple days off work from tomorrow so will be out in the fields testing it out. I expect after using Cscope and Golden Mask detectors im in for an whole new experience with this detector and one im looking forward too . It seems that of all videos I've watched on the 800 that no one uses the ground balance. Mine just runs better More define sound.. faster.. I don't know but it's there for a good reason an should be used every time you turn it on.. Very good video. I watch most of your content here. You are doing a great job bro. Great Voice too.. I have set my Nox set up as yours . 0n tone 4 25 , tone 5 is 36/40 at 1??? As 36 + seems to be iron usually . We do old untouched pasture mostly . Just wondered what your thought are on this ??? I am a bit deaf and run the threshold at 9???

Awesome! Thanx for sharing mate. Now one question. Interestingly your not the first person that hunts with the ground balance set at 0. Now I believe in always trying to have your machine at the best gb you can or like we all now the Nox can have continous auto gb tracking. I personally have it like that always. So this is my question. How can I have my gb set at 0 most of the time if I’m detecting in different locations with different type of soils and mineralization? If this is the case I cant wait to hit hammered sites to see what I can come up with!!! Cheers mate!

Field 1 wont pick up coins lying upright in the ground. Seems to miss the smaller targets but not always true. Field 2 is more a person set up

Hi mate around 5 mins 3 seconds where you go through accept /reject settings and you mention t1=2 t2=9 t3=18, t4=25 and then you say the rest is filled in.....that didn't make sense as the rest of the segments after 25 are blanked out is this correct? Many thanks Paul

I am very new to metal detecting. I did a bunch of research and I believe this is the detector for me. I bought one last night, are there any upgrades I should invest in like the 6 inch coil or does the default coil work well enough? David Parker no! He probably had sensitivity set that low because he was indoors. Run sensitivity as high as the machine will allow without chirping too often!

Hi Daniel, I had a chance to try these settings today, and overall pretty good thanks, but I did come up with one anomaly, I tested the 800 with a couple of coins on the surface before I started detecting, one of which was a young Lizzie farthing, the 800 could not see it at all? I have just got back from a pounded out Roman site. Using Nox 600 . Tried Ironhearted gogs prog field 2 ,2 tone , all metal , reactivity 3 (6 on 800 ),iron bias 2 and 3 4 and 6on 800 ) It was shit.. The falsing was horrendous.... NO WAY of telling good from bad in 2 tones.The pitch are exactly the same. Even in 5 tones the iron falsing is a high pitch ,But at least in 5 tones it quietens the machine down a touch. Even at preset disc it falses its arse off.. This is iron nails in the ground , Deep large iron can be sussed by using 10khz as it jumps up to high twenties. FORGET about using 10 khz as a single freq unless you are on CLEAN fields.Because you will have NO way of sussing deep iron. The balance of the machine is crap. It feels like an Etrac after half an hour to me.I hate to think what it would of been like without the last minute added iron bias!!!! What have the so called field testers been doing for the last 6 months !!!! Good points.. It does lock on to a good target at good depth (allthough it also will lock on at 14-15 for deep iron !!! ) We see a lot of videos of the nox on a good target . Ever wondered why they dont show the crapppy falsing on small iron ? Dont sell your Etracs or Deus yet is my advice.It needs to be run at 16-18 on a Roman /Saxon site.

I added this set up, but I’m still getting lots of false signals? Pops and squeaks, I tried single freq , seemed a little better and seems I have to go really slow to find the targets in test garden. Also, when I airtest with a coin , any coin, I can only pick it up at about 3”-4”?? Any help? Thanks

That's not right. Try a factory reset (Hold power button for 8 seconds) Don't touch any settings and test again. If it's still the same you have a faulty unit.

I had exactly the same issue when I used my 800 in field 2, turned out all I needed to do was turn sensitivity down a touch. Ground minerals and trash were the problem, on other sites I can run my settings as per video if not a little hotter than this it seems just like any other detector you have to set it up as per your site conditions. Strange lol

Hi I use a very similar set up with the recovery, iron bios, etc, but still end up digging big iron giving good signals of 16, perfect ping, and it's now getting on my nerves, I can't see why it doesn't discrim it out. 😣 😣 😣

Yeah most other metal detectors will too. Nobody would ever discriminate out 15-16 either because too many good things fall there on ID, But there is a trick: Select Park 1, change it from 'Multi' to '10khz' then press and hold the 'user' button until it bleeps to save it. Then go back to your normal hunting program and hunt away. If you get an iffy 15 or 16 ID press your user button which changes to your new 'User' Park 10khz program. If the ID jumps from 15-16 to mid 20's in your 'User' program, then you know it's ferrous. Press your 'User' button again and continue to hunt. If it was non-ferrous it would remain at 15-16 at 10khz. Piece of cake!

(thought it would work as normal due to it being water proof within certain parts of the detector), on dry land and sand worked well. My first one, so still have lots to learn
