Hey Stef, I really enjoy your videos as I live vicariously through them. I'm not able to metal detect at this time but I'm learning a lot about detecting through your knowledgeable presentations. The transparency on your channel shows the level of integrity and maturity you have for your channel and the products you represent. I respect you as a person of MANY interests (wow!) as you alluded to in the final minutes of this video. Please continue to take us along on your adventures whenever/wherever. I appreciate the hard work you go thru to make these vids!

It's like you said, most people have few good friends who will stand beside you, who you know you can count on! Be thankful you have them. Not everyone has even a handful to count on! Haters will hate. Some will be jealous. Not all will be happy for you , but that's how you find out who's really your true friends! Keep doing you, don't let a select few get you down! You're too good at what you do for that! Keep on digging, Stef...

So first I want to say thanks again for clarifying my find not being a Copper Kettle Bead. I think it was awesome that from the amount of correspondences you probably get that you were able to answer mine. You are very well knowledged in this hobby/field and your videos are the reason I reached out to you. Haters are going to hate, and even put their arm around you while doing it. I’m not involved enough to fathom how someone could be mad or upset at you for a product video. You make it very clear you’re a Minelab “ambassador” (not sure if that’s a title or not). Continue making great content, thank you for being one of the good educators for newbies like me.

Wow. Not only didn't I know, I had no suspicion. And it is a shame. About 6 years ago, a man began a channel detecting in the immediate area of Pa where I grew up. Apparently, no one had ever detected in those areas because he was digging coins like crazy. Unfortunately, he was not a skilled videographer and every upload a couple of people(?) would really rag on him. So, he did what I would probably do. Now I fully expect that you will be the better person in this, put it behind you and continue on. Note that I did not say forgive and forget. If it was possible, I would come to Mass just to meet you and shake your hand. I, along with several others, believe you to be an incredible digger. And will continue to watch everything you upload. Love your channel, THANK YOU!

Nice hunt Stef! Dandy buttons are awesome, I sure could go for one of those 🤣 has been a bit. It's definitely important to take a break, I recently did as well and still on the tail end of it. It's never good to get burnt out for you, the content, and the viewers! Success in anything always brings jealousy and the truth out from others, unfortunately. You just keep being you because you're a great person and so many people enjoy your content and personality! I didn't think I'd make the DFA hunt because of work, but my boss is trying to get it so I can be off that day. We have a yearly mandatory physical inventory in the store that day. He's working the schedule for me 👍 I will most likely be there also! Can't wait. Wicked happy hunting ✌️

Oh my goodness I had no clue about how special the event was to promote the new equipment! I see a lot of you tube videos that promote this or that product so I assumed it was just a promotion. I’m sorry I didn’t comment a congratulations….so, a hearty Congratulations!! And I’ve been in similar, but not as amazing, situations. I wrote and published a book about how to get through having a kid with cancer. I still have close friends and family that have never read the book, and my typically mean mother who told me she never will. The journey through getting my daughter to the other side of medical hell sure did expose who the “real” friends and family are… so there is a silver lining. That response you got has the same silver lining. It exposed more than coins and buckles…it exposed your “best and closest.” See it as a good thing. I know I did and saved myself a lot of wasted time with truly shitty people.

Oh no, no need to apologize! That was aimed at people I talk to and hunt with on a regular basis, those were the ones who shocked me, honestly. Yes, this was a true release video - I had a 10 hour lead over Minelab to release the first video on the Pro-Find 40. Unbeknownst to me, they had 2 other Detexperts release a video as well (one of whom is a great friend), but it was still just as incredible as can be! And wow - I can’t imagine what it’s like to have a child with cancer, and it may be even tougher for me to understand why family members and friends won’t read the book! That’s just insane - and I know you can appreciate that silver lining of “thinning the herd” as much as I can, perhaps even more so because your struggle was far greater than this bump in the road was for me. It’s definitely showed me who the most genuine and loving friends are, and from now on, those are the people I’ll always be there for! 🤘🏻

Ok, I couldn’t wait to say this later, so here it comes. My husband is a commercial vegetable grower. Wanting to do something on the farm instead of working somewhere else, I opened a four season shop. I grow tons of flowers (annual and perennial) sell homegrown produce, have a gigantic fall display of pumpkins mums etc, and then in winter hundreds of Christmas trees and wreaths n greenery. My best customers(who I’m continually thankful for) aren’t my friends. Its regular people that are drawn to us. My best of friends come to my shop two to three times a year if I’m lucky. I depend on others. I think what you do is fantastic. Truly. When I’m bored, I rewatch the episode where you found your GW. I’ll never find one in illinois! But, what I’m getting at is even though I work seven days a week at trying to continually build my business up, my very best friends are basically a no show. So get used to it, and we’ll be thankful for the ones that support us, right? Your passion for detecting shines through. Your emotions come through! Your expertise is the bright spot. Do you! That’s what I religiously come back for. Remember no farting haha

OMG. I thought this was just me. In my local detecting club, I will post my finds and I can always tell from the lack of responses, they are not happy with my finds.

Oh no way! It’s SUCH a rampant problem in the community. I’ll admit that it was tough for me when I first started to always be happy for everybody’s finds (mostly because for the first year, I couldn’t find a copper, while others would find them just a few feet from me, hah!). The community would do well to congratulate others’ achievements and remember that their time will always come around if they put in the same effort. That’s what I always keep in mind when I’m in a slump!

Small minded people should never set you back on your heels. Stay the course Stef and excel in your chosen field. It is good that those folks showed their true colors to you. Consider it detecting out the trash to find the true treasures. What do you do when you find can slaw, screws, or any junk? You put it in your trash bag and move on. Put them in your trash bag and move on. Not worth your time or energy. Happy for you that you got to do this release and reached a milestone for yourself. Happy hunting and Happy life.

Thank you! All great points - putting this out there was my way of letting it go. If something, even as unnecessary as it is, causes me grief, talking through it washes it away. And so it has! Into the trash, they go! 😊

You’re easily one of my favorite creators and I’m super glad you exist. The world is awash with fake friends and it always will be. I thought your review was really good although I think the product needs rechargeable batteries and wireless compatibility. You’re a treasure legend and I appreciate the hard work you put in to your videos. With that said, I’m sure in the future you’ll get many more opportunities to help release new products because you’re just that good. You’re one of the best representatives of this hobby.

Now you’re making me tear up, lol! 😂 Thank you so much, I really appreciate the kind words! Sometimes, people don’t understand the fine line between trolling and leaving constructive criticism on the product at hand. You left a totally appropriate comment on that video and I respect your opinion 100%! I think some people seemed to forget that I’m not an engineer, lol. I had to delete personal attacks, but I left all negative comments because hey, it’s KZbin and opinions are allowed. 😊 Thanks again for the kind words, really, really appreciate that!

My 15 inch coil from Minelab doesn’t have any depth on my 900. I have to be right on top of the target for it to pick it up. What am I doing wrong?

Hmm, that’s bizarre! Here are a few ways I would trouble shoot it: First, I would do a factory reset of the machine (write down your settings first if need be, this is a hard reset). To do so, while your machine is off, hold down the power button for about 8 seconds until you hear a weird beep and see “FP” on the screen, then release your finger from the button. Minelab doesn’t state that it is necessary to perform a factory reset when swapping coils, but I like to do it for good measure. You will need to re-pair your headphones when you do this. Second, if you notice no change, check your recovery speed and sensitivity. Naturally, if your recovery speed is on 8, you won’t be getting too much depth. And in terms of sensitivity, I think we’ve all done that move where we turn it way down if we stop to talk to a buddy in the field and forget to turn it back up… at least, I’ve definitely done that. 😂 Let me know how you make out!

@@StefDigs definitely tried the factory reset already. I threw a ring on the ground and if I’m 3 inches or above the target, no VDI or tones from the machine. Recovery speed is 4.

@@justinadams543 that’s really odd - do you have access to another Equinox to try the coil with? If it does the same thing with another Equinox, you know you’ve got a bad coil and will need to contact customer care to have it replaced if it’s under warranty. If it works fine on another Equinox, then something is up with the 900 and it’ll need to be serviced. So, I would give that a shot, because it’ll give Minelab some great info right off the bat when you contact them about the issue. I can’t put an email address in here properly or KZbin will delete it, but the email for Minelab (most efficient way to reach them) is: service @ minelabamericas . com - just omit the spaces, obviously. Good luck!

That’s nuts. Anybody who is a true friend will want you to succeed. I mean anybody who does that kind of thing is a cringy human…. As long as your proud of yourself that’s all that matters. People come and go throughout your life! Do you Stef! As long as your happy with what your doing that’s ultimately all that matters…

I hate that happened to you. It makes me angry and sad that people are so pathetically jealous and unprofessional. You make great content, and you sold me the machine I ever had, after answering emails, and talking to me on the phone. I greatly appreciate you for what you do. It's one thing we can get get a little jealous over a friends awesome find, but your still happy for them. It's another to be a jerk! Steph- just keep on doing what you do- your awesome!

Thank you! Appreciate the kind words! It really is pretty wild that some people are always in the background ready to rain on someone’s parade, but being able to have the soapbox for a moment and make the statement that I did has already been helping SO much. Thanks for listening! 😊
