Awesome finds Badger. The lead "buttons" are really unique. You've mastered that GPX. HH. Rocky Face Dan

I have always understood the script "A" to be artillery. The Va., button was VERY exciting!!! I know I have asked this before but it still baffles me. Those objects you dug in this video I could believe 150 years of seasons would put them 8-10 inches down. But the ammo box full of rounds you dug in another video I am still blown away by....that they could be that deep....as if they were intentionally buried there!! I remain in awe at the depths of some of this stuff! And what an opportunity you have in the South. All three wars on our soul of significant size, I mean the War for Independence, American and Confederate States, and the War of 1812....certainly the first two....fought large scale in the South!! Some of those round balls, could actually be the first War for Independence. A great day for you....think you owe Momma big time!! lol!

Thanks! Haha, yup, definitely owe Mama. She's a great wife. :-) Many times the reason for the really deep relics is they would dig holes in which to bury their trash.

My Dad found a back of a Virginia button filled with lead in the trenches up at my farm. I guess that is what they did. Cool finds 👍👍

Another great video! I was excited for you. Could they have pressed buttons into clay and then poured lead into the mold? Whatever they are, fantastic one-of-a-kind finds!

I think they were popping the back off buttons and pouring lead into em to make what you found for some reason. I think the A was made from a CS block A. They put a union button on one side and CS on the other.

Are they crude button molds for making buttons in the field?

I think they actually used buttons to create these instead. Some folks suggested that they might have been used as gaming pieces of some kind.
