Minelab Manticore & M8 Sniper Coil - Look what I Found!

Always great to find a coin spill when detecting Steve. The Manticore with the M8 Sniper Coil certainly was effective in finding all of the copper pre-decimal coins in that well-worked location. It will be interesting to see what else you find from this spot.

I was surprised to find so much in that spot, but it is difficult to detect with all the long grass so it’s easy to miss areas.

I've found the same Steve, roos seem to come in at 30 and commonwealth's around 22. Weird huh

It is weird, considering they’re both made from exactly the same alloy! The only thing that might be different is the density of the blank planchet before they’re struck? Not sure, but Roo pennies always have a higher target ID than the older Commonwealth variety.

Nice coin finds. What advantage using the sniper coil over the normal one? I am asking because I just started using the Manticore.

It allows you to detect in areas with a lot of obstacles, such as around rocks on the beach, or in and under trees and bushes etc. Also ideal for very trashy areas, as the smaller coil makes it easier to separate targets.
