Hey Chad. I love your training videos. Question, I've had my pool and Frogger mineral system since 2008 and over time, it's worn out and I need a new one. My questions is, is it hard to install the Frogger system for a novice, like myself or should I get a professional to do it? Also, the last time I changed out my sand was 2018. My pool is clear and no sand is being introduced into water and my flow is okay but could old sand raise the PSI levels on the pressure gauge? Thanks Chad Paul

Then do I still need to add chlorine stabilizer and algicide?

Great video and I have a mineral system and agree it’s great. But the analogy to a fish tank is 100% wrong. Both salt water and fresh water aquariums rely on bacteria to break down ammonia and nitrites. Mechanical filtration removes the solids and aerobic and anaerobic bacteria do the rest. Water changes and or plants remove the nitrates.

I’ve used the Nature2 A30 mineral cartridge for 16 years now and it is the best! I’ve tried all the other systems including Baquacil (total rip off) and nothing compares to Nature2. My total chemical cost per year is less than $100. Minimal chlorine use. Chemistries lock in for the season and pool opens up crystal clear. Since our swim season is only 3 months and I run the filter 8 hours per day I reactivate the cartridge the second year and it works great. Never had any issues in 16 years! My current pool is a 25 year old Doughboy above ground 28’ round. Replaced the liner after 23 years.

Rich Lo how do you like it? I’m still on the fence between a saltwater system vs a mineral system...

@@poppatello I'm still waiting since this covid has put the pool industry as a hot business right now. I get the pool itself delivered in a few weeks still and installed on August 8th

@@poppatello btw my brother in law has saltwater and its, awesomeness but for above ground pools you have to remember that if you have steel pools that it can corrode it or screws that hold it together. I got a resin pool but still steel frame

@@rhdtv2002 I have a hybrid pool. The dealer said the pool was saltwater friendly but when I looked @ the manufacturer paper after I got home it saids not to use saltwater. I was kind of pissed. They didn't even offer the saltwater so it wasn't pushed on us. My oldest son has eczema real bad so that's why we wanted to go a different route. While watching Chad's videos I found out about mineral systems. The pool place didn't know anything about them. I have looked over the Nature2 vs the Frog and I like the Frog system better. I just wished I could get more reviews and info on it. The thing I like most about Frog is there is no drilling needed vs the Nature2 you drill a hole in your piping. Not sure how that works as I'm sure a lot of water will bypass the hole. The pool we have is steel wall and all resin frame, track, to rail, uprights, ect. I was looking into anodes to help with it but not sure i really want to chance it. I never even looked into a resin pool. I already purchased the Omega Saltwater system and can not find one review on it. That really scares me. I can take that $641 system back plus the 7 bags of salt and get the Frog system. I just want to get it right the first time though. I've been around pools all my life. My pop had a 15x30 growing up but this is my first personal pool...

what are your thoughts on using a salt water generator to produce the chlorine, then use an ozone system along with it to further clean the water?

I think that either unit lowers your chlorine so significantly that's high in them together is really useless.

Hey Chad, I looked at all your videos. Thank you! Question; which system do you recommend a saltwater system or mineral system? I already purchased a Omega saltwater system but have not installed it yet. I’m leaning towards doing the mineral system instead but want your take on it first. It’s hard finding info on the mineral system...

As long as you have a pool that can handle salt system I would highly recommend the salt system

Thank you for your informative videos. I find them very helpful. Can you please let me know what you think about the potential for silver and copper from the cartridge to enter and build up in the pool. I am specifically referring to the Nature2 A30 systems. I have one but have never used it and read quite a few customers and pool professionals who have that same concern. What are your thoughts on that? Thank you.

I used to use the nature 2 system all the time and have never had an issue with it.
