MING LW.01: Probably The World's Lightest Mechanical Watches

Out of the Special Projects Cave and it’s been several years in the making, but we haven’t abandoned the challenge of making what we believe are the world’s lightest mechanical wristwatches: the MING LW.01 Manual and LW.01 Automatic. They are a featherweight 8.8 and 10.8 grams respectively and for the watch head only.

I wouldn't be surprised if it floats in water, especially with those air pockets from the structural design on the underside.

The only question I have is how the movement is secured to the case assembly? From the CAD drawings it seems like the center case only features a circular cutout in the front. Is the movement screwed directly into the center piece of the case like it would normally a movement holder?

Ming Thein answered personal to this question: "Yes, it’s secured to the center case using the normal fixing screw points, and this is in turn secured to the rest. The CAD representation isn’t 100% accurate for IP protection reasons ;)"

Great design, but my personal preference is to have some weigh for a watch to feel you are wearing one.
