I never had a problem with needles until one time I had to have a fasting blood test. Literally two seconds after they started drawing blood I turned white, excreted a bucket or two of sweat and threw up... since then, yeah I've been more than a bit nervous around them.

Clexane(?) injections!!! I had to give these to myself for six weeks after surgery Tips - Lightly slap the area immediately before you do it (so the injection happens in the fuzziness feeling afterwards) - just lie down and don't move for ~15mins afterwards as the medication settles in. - DON'T rub the spot afterward, it creates a massive bruise and if you don't you can usually get away with just a small pinprick blueness. - rotate where you inject, I used six areas in a dice shape around my belly button and once I'd got to the last the first was usually fully settled to go again.

Concur with the last bit. The doctor's advice in my case was to alternate between left and right side, turns out it wasn't enough in my case. Not sure if you need to do a skin fold as a target area for Clexane (I had to for Fraxiparine, it's injected subdcutaneously), but size matters - the bigger, the better, so that your non-dominant hand can hold it securely.

It's fascinating how we as a species can personally differ on so minor an experience. I wouldn't go so far as to say "I love needles," but I do like to look as they're doing it, and I enjoy the test if resilience. #1 on my list is using pliars to pull-out a bad tooth. Twisting out baby teeth was one thing, but I've yet to loose an adult one (but hopefully never will).

Sounds like Lovenox injections. I had to take those as well... the needle is fairly small, no bogger than the needle for insulin injections. The trick, after you insert the needle, slowly inject the solution, this will help to reduce the sting/burn sensation.

I used to hate needles with a passion. Never fainted or anything, but they terrified me as a child (i am old, i got vaccinated a LOT as a child). But once i hit adulthood, i realized that the anticipation was WAY worse than the actual pain. In fact, i'd hurt myself far worse stubbing a toe than most shots. After that it was "this is nothing, it doesn't hurt, stop worrying about it." And since that realization, needles don't bother me at all anymore. And i've been in the hospital twice on intensive IV medications and that is a needle stick that doesn't end. It hurts the entire time, although not as badly as the initial poke where they actually punch not a hole, but a HOLE for the needle to go into. In one instance the medication was so toxic that the IV site needed to be moved every day once the IV site got irritated. If you aren't over your fear of needles after 30 days, you may have a problem... ^-^

Turns out Jingles, that the community manager you're talking about was AkTuaLLY an ArrowHead (Hell Diver's developer) employee. Sony wanted him to be fired for escalating the situation. He was the one who told people to post negative reviews and ask for their money back, he was quite rude about too. During Sony's about-face, Arrowhead also told Sony that they'd be keeping the CM; Apparently they're quite fond of him despite his rather unprofessional, even hostile manner. There apparently was a standing agreement between Arrowhead and Sony that Hell Divers 2 would need PSN accounts, on release the head of Arrowhead made sure that the agreed policy was not implemented. There's a formal apology from him to the community that explains it all. Technically then, Sony had the necessary legal and technical terms in place to say that all of those accounts should have been on the Sony network from the start. Arrowhead should have negotiated for them not to be. Chances were though that as Sony is used to dealing with developers who have zero leverage on the Sony network, wouldn't hear a word of it. I'm glad that it worked out and proved that linking one's Steam account to Sony (also thus granting Sony full access to your data on Steam) is not necessary for games to run. One could argue that the guy in charge of Arrowhead took one for the team.

Spitz got fired afterward and prior to the comment about review bombing was a right twat to the community. Not exactly the best rep to have IMO. Unfortunately they chose to keep both Baskinator and Purple Squidgeon, the latter of whom may be on the receiving end of a defamation suit for the public accusations of misconduct made against Grummz. Johan definitely took a hit on this one and admitted that it was something he was fully aware of, we were also aware of it on login as it was in the EULA. Unfortunately for Sony I believe that those aren't technically enforceable under EU or UK law (the terms have to be "clear and reasonable" as well as available prior to purchase, none of which are the case here) so they can go swivel. Personally I wouldn't mind but I don't trust Steam with much of my data outside of the necessary (PayPal and email) and they haven't had serious breaches providing useable data. Unlike, for example, Sony who wanted either my driver's licence or passport for age verification (I gave up my mobile when I stopped working, definitely don't miss it!) so they can go do one.

I'm pleased to hear your recovery is going well. I would imagine the anti-coagulant is either Warfarin or Heparin. The latter I'm familiar with from having dialysis a few years ago. I'm not a great fan of needles either. I still remember a time when I was anaemic. I had to inject myself in the stomach with Ethropoetin. I couldn't bring myself to do it and had to ask someone else to assist. My lingering memory is the injection was very painful. You have my sympathies.

Jingles for your needle problem there may be a solution. My daughter has the same problem and we found those things called "Emla Pflaster" it's something like a bandaid you put on an hour or 2 before the poke and it numbs the area. You will feel nothing (if that helps) but those things are not cheap. A company named "Pharmasana" distributes those in the UK.

And I've been playing the game obsessively off and on since 2018, currently in my second go round of daily grinding and winning 5.2 of every 10 battles 😆. But there is NO other channel that can bring a WOWS battle to life like The Mighty Jingles can. Every episode is a treasure and a road map as to how to do it. Thank you big guy, you have a talent unlike anyone else in this space and I appreciate it more than I can put into words.

Glad your recovery is going well and let us hope it continues! Regarding Hell Divers 2, a bit of a correction - Sony said they would not require PSN accounts but not taking action required to make it so. Steam has come out to state that Sony had the block in place and they have not removed it. So despite Sony saying we did back and make a real change, they posted a tweak and have not changed the Steam side of things so 170 regions still can not buy or play the game if they had uninstalled their HD2 client.

Needles are evil, but necessary. Better to pay for the pain, than for what happens if you don't get them Doesn't mean you got to like it, or can't even stall a tad

LOL. I had a new knee around a year ago. I agree the blood thinning injections were the worst part of the whole ordeal!! Keep strong Mr Jingles :-)

Helldiver here. I'm so happy to be part of a community that can come together in times of need, even if the toxicity is pretty bad. That's what happens when you let the gamers do what they want to do. The devs don't walk us around holding our hands like in kindergarten. They give us guns and tell us to get it done, and it will be done. For Democracy!

Blood clot deaths after operations are something you hear about but rarely experience in your circle of friends and family who have operations, its always faceless statistics , but its serious and common enough to warrant the warnings and precautions of blood thinners and pressure bandages for post op care, my mother had spinal surgery and had these fancy massaging leggings that vibrated and pumped hot and cold water to lower even further the risk, she came out of the recovery period fine , my mates wife however didn't, she went in for a typical surgery on something in her stomach, and everything went perfect, however when she got home a day later she woke up with a pain in her knee, while getting a cup of tea she she collapsed dead, a clot from her surgery had worked its way from her stomach to her knee, restricted blood flow around her knee then dislodged and went straight to her brain and resulted in an aneurism which killed her instantly

My wife is on blood thinners due to having a mechanical heart valve. In everyday life she takes Warfarin pills. When she was pregnant with our two kids, however, the Warfarin was considered risky, so she had to go on Heparin with two injections each day in the stomach for nine months each time. Definitely no fun!
