This is great. you showed important details. I am restoring a John Cooper as well.

I noticed yours is non Harman kardon nor the hifi system model (no A piller twitter speaker). Therefore, this unit should not have any external audio amplifier right? Normally it can be found on the rear panel on the left side. So by adding or upgrading the speaker, does it handle well without the amplifer?

You don't need to remove the rear seats to get to the rear speakers. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZ_YY2qcmt-Sbqc

You linked 1st gen mini and here is 2nd gen. Does it make any difference?

@@las3k91yes it does. What ickyyes shows doesn’t work on the R56 model.

Bro you are absolutely right. At first I thought you were wrong but then I went and looked at this guy's series of videos and it's just way too much work for what needs to be done. It's pretty much the same thing except there's a plastic part that has a pin or a screw in it that needs to be removed. In order to get to this you have to take off the pillar which you need a T20 head to remove the screw in the pillar. Remove the pillar and you can get to the speaker just like on the old models. Way easier without having to remove all of those panels and the seats.

At first I thought you were wrong but you're right. You can do it the easy way just like on the old models. All you need to do is use a T20 head to remove the screw in the pillar, remove the pillar and you're able to get to the clip that's holding on that panel. After that it's just like doing it on the old models. The way he's doing it in this video is just way too much work for what has to be done
