I wish I would have found your video a months ago. I bought a sky tracker drone at Walmart for a little over 100 US dollars. I really like it it has a thousand foot range I never pushed it to that distance but the camera on it I could never connect to my phone and I have an Android a01. I got so frustrated I did something that I learned from quad chopper 101. He removed the factory camera and bought a 808 keychain camera that looks like a fob for your car to unlock or lock the doors. And then attached it with rubber bands to the belly of the drone. However the reason that I bought the drone was so I could see through the camera so I could go further out out of line of sight and get some video so your video really helped me and I'm anxious to get a good camera. Your question is very vague. You need to specify what type of camera you have there and maybe send a link of the product or a picture. There are a thousand makes out there.

Anything around 5.8GHz should have more range and less delay. But for that you need certain types of phones and external USB OTG receivers. Or they pair directly with the FPV googles. The 5.8GHz cameras also come with different emitting powers. Some of them can even broadcast almost 1Km away.

It does not need mobile data. The WiFi module of the phone pairs with the camera so i could not connect to any other WiFi network. The app does not require internet conectivity. The range of the camera is about 30m. When this range is exceeded, the image freezes on the screen. Check this video of mine for example. Is the mobile app reliable? I had recently bought a composite video to wifi module. The module works great but the app had stopped working on iOS after few weeks. The problem is I don't own an Android phone and the seller has not replied if there is an alternate app that can work on iOS. This has made my setup useless.

WiFi cameras have limitations. They are not fast enough and they don't have enough range. The best choice would be a 5.8G camera with an USB receiver for your phone.
