My father, my brother and I built several dirt track race cars throughout my childhood, my earliest memories are riding in the 55 Chevy with a roll cage and sheet metal with fire coming out of the fender and getting pulled over for driving on the highway, i was maybe 4 years old and will never forget that feeling. I’m In my fifty’s now and dad is gone but still alive in my memories. Keep working with your children, what you build now will stay with them a life time.

AWESOME man, I miss those times with my son. I was a single Dad. Mini Bikes to Motorcycles Go-Carts to Cars. He had that same Smile your Baby had every time he went by. It was a strange feeling when he started riding my XR 500. I started riding his TT250. I always had a bigger Machine than the Boy. But that TT 250 suited my old butt just fine. Much easier to ride. He is 27 now and Six foot Five. But, we spent all weekend working on Projects. His XR 500 is Scary Fast But my VT 1100 is easier to ride. LOL.I will be Dragging out that old Go-Cart today Thanks to your video. Let's see what he and I can do with it. But first the Roll Cage I built for it has to go. or neither one of us can get into it.LOL Good Day And God Bless you and yours.

Just seeing the Thumbnail was worth me clicking on this video. I've got a daughter and she's 6 yrs old and so I myself got that giggly warm fuzzy feeling that a dad gets when you see the smiles on their little faces when they see something exciting that they themselves helped to accomplish. We are currently fixing 2 old kids quad-bikes for them to ride around on their grandparents farm. (Them being my 2 boys and my daughter) Funny thing is my daughter has taken more interest in mechanical things like fixing the cars and motorcycle we own. My boys just love playing MineCraft more than I do!.................... I'd rather fix something and have fun and make use of it than sit around in front of the computer or Xbox so much.
@HotRodHoarder4 жыл бұрын
That's so awesome. My daughter always asks if there's something she can help with in the garage...and typically the answer is no because I'm underneath a car, or doing something more strenuous than she can handle. It was pretty rewarding (for both of us) to get her involved in a project. I hope to do it more often.
@TheHungrySlug4 жыл бұрын
@@HotRodHoarder I know EXACTLY what you mean, sometimes they want to help but don't realise when their getting in the way or are at risk of even getting hurt. But seriously, that mini monster truck looks awesome and giving it a better engine was a great idea, perhaps some simple suspension maybe in order? The main thing is to include our children as best and when we safely can, I remember how much I loved helping my dad and grandfather when they needed a helping hand. Nowadays I'm the one who steps in to help my dad instead of him, when I see him having problems. I barely swear much at all, my father on the other hand swears a LOT when he's having troubles, It's hard not to laugh because that makes him feel worse and more frustrated. Ok dad, allow me to do that for you, "But why?" so you don't have to risk ruining it or having to start allover again. So I guess having had kids will be worth it in the end. If I help them, then when they get older they can help me if I can do it, Whatever that "it" happens to be.
