Monster Truck Kart gets 25" ATV Tires!

We bought 25” ATV tires for cheap, and we’re installing them on our monster truck lifted go kart! The mini monster truck off road go kart performed pretty well at Mini Mayhem, but it was really held back by the front suspension and tires. We’re fixing that by lifting the front, modifying the suspension for more travel, and adding these off road ATV tires!

Guys, don't overthink this the tires are not on backwards they're just at the wrong corner. Switch them around until you find the right offset and the right direction.

yup, I'd go "deep dish" with them, then put the front shocks out 3-4" more at tops and bottoms for a little more stiffness, less tipping around. couple tooth smaller on the drive sprocket or changes at counter shaft to regain its wheel torque, all simple enough alterations.

If you put the wheels the other way the base would be larger and it would be more difficult to tip it! Plus the body would not touch the wheels. Awesome project!

There's a big upfront cost, from what I understand they'd be $300-$400 a piece retail price, I personally think that's too high for most people. I'd love to be proven wrong.

@@smokinlogs80085 That's because coke has citric acid in it, though it's weak and there are other things that work better. windshield washer fluid is an old farmer trick for cheap tire weights, and in regions where there is freezing temps we use it because of the rubbing alcohol content doesn't freeze like the water in coke will.

smog pump makes a good small engine blower, you can also catch some boost right off the cooling fan shroud by welding in some 1.5" tubing angle/curve cut to fit, plumb it straight into the fuel injector body.

Hey Guys! The latest upgrades to the monster truck are the BEST! The performance and handling characteristics actually mimic a full size monster truck! If you watch a full size monster truck navigate a short coarse, the way the nose dives under braking and the rear squats under acceleration is almost identical. I wouldn't change a thing!

If you guys want to build a bogger kart.. you need those Interco Super Swamper ATV Boggers from Summit Racing. That and a TON of horsepower, and possibly gears.. A 450 4 stroke dirt bike engine or even a 650 twin street bike engine would be great for that. I'd suggest building a rollbar if you make anything that tall again, that thing looks like it's going to roll at any second. Another project you could do that I know Ike would get behind would be a drag snow mobile. You take the skis off the front and put ATV spindles and tires and then a slick track and as the brits say "Bob's your Uncle". And then you can start adding power to the snow mobile engine.
