give us the benchies
@FearlessTofu3 жыл бұрын
@@imxd9698 There will definitely be benchies! My goal is to complete all the mini moon benchies, even if it takes a lifetime. Planning to put a vid up on YT of all the benchies by grade- starting with V3 (when I can clear all of them). In the meantime, thinking of making a dedicated mini moon IG account to post them one by one or livestreaming my mini moon sessions. Any preference/suggestion?

Sick video, planning on building this using your design. Looks like it's solid and doesn't sway at all.

Amazing dedication and efforts in building the climbing wall! How long did it take you to build the wall??????
@FearlessTofu3 жыл бұрын
3 full days to build the wall itself. Half day to buy and transport the materials and half day to set the holds. So approximately 4 full days for the project.

Awesome work! did you have any issues with the wood holds not being screwed in?
@FearlessTofu Жыл бұрын
I didn’t put any set screws in the wood holds but for the most part they haven’t spun. Periodically, I go through and retighten the bolts.

How does this compare with a regular moonboard? Worth the investment?
@FearlessTofu3 жыл бұрын
If I had the space I would have initially gone with the regular moonboard. But now, I’m really happy I have the mini. The problems are shorter but still challenging at the 40 degree angle. And with gyms reopened here now, I find it worth it to have a board you won’t find in a commercial gym. All the more benchmarks to try! You can check out my mini moon Instagram @fearlessmooncake to see what the problems are like.

What were you guys doing to the t-nuts with the drills after you had pounded them in? I’ve dealt with spinning t-nuts in the past and was wondering if this was a preventative step.

Very nice build! I want to build one myself and I am thinking about whether this design or a freestanding is better. Do you find the vertical supporting beams to be annoying while climbing/falling?
@FearlessTofu3 жыл бұрын
If I had the budget, I would have preferred a freestanding steel frame to avoid the vertical supporting beams. With the wall placement in my garage, it wasn’t possible to eliminate the vertical beams and attach the wood frame to roof or back wall, so I had to go with the vertical beams. However, they actually haven’t gotten in the way as much as I was anticipating. I’ve only done V3-V4s on it and haven’t even hit the posts once. It does get annoying when I’m not climbing tho- for instance when my car is parked on the other half of the garage and I can’t open the door fully or when I need to get around the car and have to duck through that triangle of space.
@jakobwolf15783 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your reply. Yes I want to build a freestanding steelframe myself. Although I think it will get very heavy and is a lot more work. So I‘m not sure yet. Good to know that the vertical beams are not really getting in the way while climbing. Either way I am quite motivated to build a Mini Moonboard!
