Ooooooh! I love the boning and tubing idea! And the flipped top part. I always use a separate binding fabric, and it gets really thick and clunky!

Very good video! Not too much extra talking, just pure instruction. Background music is good and not intrusive. Thank you! Edit: I made this last night for my new car. I used tubing for the front, and I cut a strip out of a plastic water jug for the back, flat part of the top. It fits perfectly, and doesn't get in the way. Thanks again!

nice bag, enforcing the top edge really makes it look great as well as hold it's shape. I'm thinking about making a larger bag exactly like this with a few pockets to use as a front seat organizer, with ties up to the head rest, so it won't fall over.

I love this! I'm a very beginner sewist, but with your pattern and this wonderful video, I finished this in less than two hours. I moved my straps out farther and put velcro on one side so I could hang it from the headrest. It turned out so cute. Thank you!

I’ve made 4 already, and I’m planning a few more. There are so many uses for them. I will keep one next to my sewing machine to put threads, and small scraps in, and I put one in my car. I used plastic tubing and it works perfectly.

I absolutely love this tutorial! I bought your pattern and I’ve made a few. I would like to make it larger. Can you give me an idea how to adjust the markings to accommodate a bigger one?

You need to decide how big you want to make it. Decide how wide you would like the back edge to be ( for placement of the back boning and vertical stitches) and you can fold the bottom the same way or just slightly wider.

That’s exactly how I design. I make tons of samples first. Just pin fabric together without cutting to get idea of size first instead of cutting all out. Have fun!

Why is your needle always left of center?

That’s the default position when machine is turned on. Also, I’ve mainly used industrial machinery throughout my sewing career and the feet are different without ability to move needle position. I don’t move it on this machine unless I need to.

Hi Michelle, I think it's a great idea too. Your comment had me thinking, if there is nowhere in your car to hang one, you could omit the loops and instead use adhesive velcro (hook-and-loop) dots or squares and stick it on somewhere. Just a thought! 🙂

@@lesley4928 maybe they’ve improved it since then, but years ago, the adhesive on hook and loop wd melt if it got hot, so depending on where you live, it might slide down the dashboard. Maybe test it so you don’t get a sticky mess.
