I first came across them at a quilt show and bought them at half off because it was end of the show. I thought they were such a brilliant idea! I’ve made some but it seemed tedious. This video seems to make a much easier process of it. I’m going to make some as a hostess gifts for the holidays. I’m so inspired!

Your tip for using the opposite corner of the cozy to use as a guide to quilt straight is something I’ve never seen before and it’s absolute genius! Thank you for this tutorial. My husband asks for these every year, and due to unforeseen circumstances, I wasn’t able to make them last year, so a couple of these will be a perfect small Yuletide gift for him!

❤❤❤❤❤ THANKS SO MUCH FOR SHOWING US HOW TO MAKE OUR OWN PATTERN PLUS A GREAT TIP FOR A STURDIER ONE!! I’ve made these as gifts and it’s true…people don’t know they need them until they get them. Then they love them and want more! Sometimes I made a set of three sizes for a gift. The one larger than the one you demonstrate can be used with a dinner plate and also a serving bowl. Here’s a tip for your subscribers: I look for 100% quality cotton shirts at thrift shops. They make great bowl cozies, especially for men. 😊

Thank you for this great tutorial! I have made many bowl cozies from other videos and always found them to be fiddly and time consuming. Your video has shaved many steps: - love the template -- saves the constant measuring repetitively; - cutting the batting smaller than the fabric saves trimming; - 1/2 inch seams around the outside instead of 1/4 inch makes the sewing more forgiving; - sewing between the notches makes turning and sewing that opening closed so much easier; - starting the darts at the batting instead of the edge of the fabric saves clipping the seams later on. Loved the way you showed how to trim the darts too. - I never thought of running the machine for 1/2 inch at the bottom of the dart, so easy!; - doing the quilting at the end instead of at the beginning cuts out much of the stitching, and using the opposite corner to guide the diagonal lines is genius. You can probably tell from my comments that I am fairly new to quilting so I appreciated all of your tricks and tips. One thing I did differently from you is I used my walking foot for the entire time because my machine would not let me do the edge stitching with all that bulk without looking very uneven and terrible. I was able to do the edging by moving my needle to the far right so that the left side of the walking foot held down the fabric while the right side of the foot just barely held the edge of the cozie down. It was okay and I did get better at it. Thanks again from Victoria, BC, Canada. I have liked and subscribed.

Wish I had seen this first. I bought the templates and this sure would have saved me some money on my Christmas gifts. My sister-in-law wants a set of these. She was going to pay 12 dollars a piece for them. I just about had a cow. I have tons of cotton fabric and cotton batting. I will still make your pattern too. I like how neat it comes together. I only have to make 32 of them. Guess I better get busy. Thank you for sharing. I bought the Juki Haruka this summer. I love that machine. Out of the 11 machines I own, and I do use all of them for different things, the Haruka by far is my favorite.

Congrats on the machine! It'll sew this with ease. These cozies take me about 20 minutes in total to make to give you an idea.😊

I’ve adopted many of your tips and tricks from watching your channel😉 ( Grand children love their scrunchies! Best tips and tricks ever!) Also sewed many bowl cozies from your other method (making templates from mylar placemats☺️) and they were a huge hit as family xmas gifts👍 I will definitely be trying this method and oh my, the tips are a bonus. Thank you for taking out the time to share your valued sewing knowledge..much appreciated. Follower from northern New Brunswick, Canada🇨🇦 👋
