Taylor , consider using 6"pvc pipe for under bed storage. Screw off caps on both ends, water tight and cut to any length!

What’s really missing here imho is spares. At the very least I‘d keep some fuses, maybe some lightbulbs and a spare alternator belt. If there are other parts that are prone to breaking on these trucks, get those as well. Even if you can’t change them yourself, you’ll have a hard time getting something exotic quickly if you’re stuck somewhere. A even though those trucks might not have a lot of electronics, a basic clamp multimeter might also help diagnosing a lot of issues. Also, an underbody / underbed toolbox is a great idea. Probably more safe than the cabin as well. They com im plenty of sizes, so finding one that fits shouldn’t be a problem. Alternatively buy a Zarges Aluminum box and bolt i t to the frame. Lastly, maybe add some airline rails to the bed. They make it a lot easier to tie stuff down.

I bought a roof rack from harbor freight, roof supports, and crossbars from amazon. Bolted a crossbar onto the cabback rack, and bolted the other to the other cross bar and bolted it to 2 of the roof supports. The rain gutter mounts of the roof supports would not allow my doirs to seal against the cab, so they were thrown out. Have had no problems with the rack lifting away at 75 mph so the rear mounts are perfectly adequate. Put a "weather proof" bag on it and stored my tools in it. Found water in the bag the other day so the bag is going away and everything will go into plastic ammocans in the rack.

Try RainX and FogX, they'll repel water and help prevent the windows from fogging. I used them on my old Camaro in high school.

I completely forgot the truck battery is under the bed. In the van, it's actually under the front passenger seat! I dig your idea of the under bed 'saddle' storage. You won't have this problem in the van _when_ you get one.

You can buy or 3D print license plate adaptors so you can mount American plates on a kei truck without drilling. And you can download free files to 3D print the door handles, window winders, engine cover washers, etc.

Put a battery killswitch in if you're worried about your battery dying because you left something on that way you can shut off all power leaving the battery

On the Sambar - things I havent seen anywhere yet on them: fuel mileage, tank range, towing capability, aftermarket cruise, maintenance costs, parts sourcing difficulty, braking distance, disc or drum brakes, aftermarket air conditioning, cost range to insure.

If you change out the lights to LED’s, you’ll have an “alarm” for the when the lights have been on for at least 5 minutes: the fans make a high pitched whine that’s not easily ignored. Also they’ve changed the H4 LED form factor that moves the fan to the inside of the housing, so there’s more clearance around the rubber boot surround (no need to cut it), and no half foot of cord.

clean the inside of the windscreen thoroughly with window cleaner and a microfibre and it should stop fogging up. Make sure to clean it 100% so all the oil and crap is removed. Then look how much less it fogs up. Nice truck 👌

Look into a small fan that plugs into the cigarette lighter for the inside fog / condensation. A buddy of mine uses one for his Jeep that has a similar fogging issue.

I drive a fiat panda and also have issues with the windows fogging up. My solution is to put an old sock filled with litter box filler and it works but it does make the dashboard dusty

Yes more, can't get them in Texas. The laws here are uncertain for me to dump close to $10,000 once all fixed up, for me to get stopped & ticketed. The Texas dealer says legal but DMV says illegal. We need somebody here like in SC to help change the laws so we can drive here as well. Look most of our roads are country roads too be we have smog testing incorporated into our inspections. As we tend to adopt many CA & WA rules here because so many are moving here. Real bummer.

Those little guys don't come with and ODB2 computer? If yours does, you could simply get a little ODB2 tracker with Bluetooth. Then you'd be able to see your speed real-time on your phone without having to wait for the navigation to calculate your speed. My Toyota echo is just a step above a kei and comes with ODB2. My ODB2 reader cost me like $20.

Recommend Adams Anti Fog Coating or Car Pro Fog light also get a long tube sock and put cat litter in it if you get a scent one it’s a plus but put the litter in a tube sock and either twist it and put a zip tie or take another sock and go over the other sock with litter and put it behind the seat and it will pull all the moisture out of the air inside the car to reduce the fog
