Snorkel on the intake and that giant stack as a side pipe would be ridiculously awesome! Man the boatside LJ is looking great…a rock limo sitting low is gonna need all the clearance it can get. I have say the most flammable liquid in the shop being used as welding fixture is so Peck Bros….

A stock LS with gapped rings will handle a lot of power, but your tune and fuel system has to be spot on. It's been done successfully many many times. Hell, it's been done many many many times just by Richard Holdner and Matt at Sloppy. The reason there may be a hundred guys in the comments saying it, is because it's true.

One small thing I learned that made welding stainless exhaust so much cleaner, easier, and cheaper was to find a spool of mig stainless steel wire and get that. .030 stainless filler doesn't cool off the weld as much, so you need less heat to keep the puddle, and you can pull as long or as short of piece as you want for filler. Might be worth giving it a try!
@SirensC36 ай бұрын
The trick is to not pull the filler rod out of the heat too far bro. You have to keep it close to the weld to keep it hot. But you probably already knew that so sorry for the comment. This is more for those that didn’t know more than you.

Guys, where I live (Indonesia) a lot of the trucks have rigged a whistle on their wastegate. They just cut a small slot in the wastegate pipe, and peen it in. When the wastegate opens it makes a WAAAH sound. I would definitely experiment with that, if it were mine. As far as an exhaust stack, why would you need two? You have already collected the exhaust for the turbo, so there is little to gain by splitting the exhaust now. My vote is for a snorkel on one side and an exhaust stack on the other.

Tigging big gaps like that is no small feat, so props for that, but y’all should really try using the pulse feature for welding stainless exhausts. It’s kind of a pain to get your setting dialed in the first time you use it, but once you do it makes it monumentally easier to no pump too much heat into the material

The side exit is good until you start rigging up the side winches and any air and welding lines. A single stack with a snorkel would allow the exhaust to clear itself from the work area. A second stack could pose as a snorkel to keep exhaust out of the air intake. It would balance the stacks

A snorkel behind the cab is good but where are you going to put the air cleaner? I think the side pipe is a cool idea. As someone that has done miles of stainless tubing I think you did a good job with the plumbing but next time purge your tubes with argon. The welds inside the tube will be smoother. Just an FYI.
